Hey 2rismo the guys a negative tosser who bitches and whinges like a shiela about anything that takes his fancy...theres an old saying i like and it goes a little something like this...

"if you want to find out how bad something is, ask someone who doesn't have one, would like one, but can't afford it."

Yes other people make good clutches too...I now use an NPC twin plate. A good clutch for our race car....but in a street car a Jim Berry clutch is 1/2 the price and much more suited to that application.

You could always ask NPC to make a full monty equivalent! I nearly fell over at the price difference.

Then again maybe the sum of the parts don't make the clutch but I am assuming NPC know what they are talking about, I am in love with the clutch they made for me

Got one of Jim's Full Monty's on my GTR.

Just got it going over the weekend - initial impression - nasty!!!

Very short take up, clamps like a vice - just as promised.

I would suggest it will take a little getting used to on the street as it is very on or off (no in between) so gentle takeoffs up hill etc could be fun. Once rolling or on the track...beautiful.

I have stayed with a std weight flywheel which will help on the road. An excessively light one would be even more of a handfull getting off the mark without making it sound like the start of a grand prix.

Go for it.

It also wears in a bit. Drive it a hundred k's or two then give it some biggish launches. It will be much better after that.

I did 3 4 grand launches in a row and instantly it was better.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
