At the moment i'm running .8 bar and have a Apexi N1 exhaust, Blitz Adjustable Boost Controller, Greddy boc, Apexi air intake.

The rest of the motor is stock and stock intercooler. It made 165rwkw, does this sound normal for this setup?

What steps should i take to make 200rwkw?

ECU (PowerFC or similar), or S-AFC (interceptor types)

Dont be worried if you make 180, 190 whatever.

As long as you make more power than you did before and the car feels better... thats the key more so than a number on a sheet as anyone can fudge it if you want.

Other than that, search around.

There is so much information on that type of question as its so common

sounds a tad low. id say uve only got a cat back right? finish of the rest of the exhuast with a split dump and high flow cat. leave boost at that level and get a SAFC or an aftermarket ecu with a tune. upgrade ur intercooler to a better flowing side mount or a front mount. by this stage u should be pushing 200 rwks. id also change the fuel pump before the tune. :)

No need for a fuel pump at 180.

I made 194 with no probs, heaps of peeps make 200-ish but thats about it's limit.

Also, for supporting mods for certain power goals....

The RB25 dyno thread (sticky in Forced Induction) is always a good place to start.....or whichever engine you have,

my mate was running 205rwkw on a 95 r33 with 3" turbo back exhaust (split dump, high flow cat), pod with cold air intake and heat shield, 13psi boost, apexi power fc, exhaust cam gear, bosch 040 intake fuel pump, 98 fuel and a front mount cooler...

you may have but i found out the unlucky way when my pump was leaning out when i was getting my pfc tune. so i had to put things on hold and get a new one in there. id say jus be on the safe side and get one because realistically speaking the stockers are only good for about 200 rwks so there lifespan is just a matter of time at that level.

Personally a R33 gtr Fuel Pump for around $250.00 is cheap insurance if you wanna go 200kw. Like everyone said aftermarket ecu for tuning (helps heaps!!!!!!!) and an upgraded intercooler if you cant afford a FMIC just get a stock R34 smic and should be good for your power figures.

i got a cat back zost, high flow panel filter, fmic, and the rest is stock (inc. boost) and i got 163.2 kw when mercury motorspports tuned my S1 r33 gtst. have also noticed that most ppl getting 200+KW get a GTR fuel pump, and ECU upgrade or a new chip.

good luck mate

Aif

hmmm

i'd say go piggy back for what u want

because you'll notice the difference... and by the time you get used to the new power and be like ohh this shits too slow you can save up for a power fc/motec etc

i reckon take steps so you include a balanced setup to your power needs but ppl have varied oppinions n sht

after you get a piggy back

go for a z32 afm,

a walbro/bosch fuel pump

high flow/garret

perhaps some s15 injectors if the pggy bak can handle

afta all them then go for a stand alone ecu this way you notce the power gains and learn what each part represents in the power figures

you should be pumping 230rwkw outta ya arse but im just estimating as i havent got all those mods n .gradually i will to

If you just want 200rwkw or 260rwhp approx

the stock turbo on .8 bar should net your power goals (pending on tune)

front mount intercooler (a generic one from justjap will do the job as china copies are proven to handle 500hp) $345

with piping

Apexi SAFC for about $250 (used) on ebay or the new Apexi NEO for $400(new) on ebay (most shops would charge around $550 figure) allow it 200-300$ to install and tune

a bosh, walbro or gtr fuel pump will do (not nessesary but for peace of mind if you like)

a good clutch and tyres would do wonders for drag times

stock turbo would be good for 260-280rwhp anything more then your just lucky or someones telling bullocks

when the time comes for more power your gonna need either a direct fit turbo on the stock manifold or a SS manifold (not that expensive these days 500$ give or take) plenty of cheap upgrades around from JustJap and KKR ($500) type turbos to HKS/Garret even a garret turbo would be around $1500 do dont bother spending 1k hi-flowing your stock turbo

afm, injectors, cams, full ecu will all depend on HP levels

engine should be good for 350rwhp on stock internals if serviced regularly, i know alot of people have milked 400+ out of the good old RB's but how many genuinely last long on high boost and regular thrashing?

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
    • Bloody apprentices! 🙄
    • Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄
