admit to it guys, most of us have driven like an ass at one point of our lives. give this guy a break and its definately not entirely the problem of him being a P-plater. a 26 year old man would do the same if he just got his ride (lol dont ask me why i chose 26). good thing that his quick run didn't end up in something bad like most so-called 'experienced' drivers! :P

I agree with you there mate, but he didn't mention i he was going anywhere in the article, so we are assuming he was doin it cause he could.

I myself have done excessive speed, and i wont vote for anyone who says they haven't, but along a busy street.....weaving cars....it might get his girl excited but what about Malcom stumbling across the crossing after having a good night at the pub...

He didn't mention, or the media didn't mention? Think about it? Who's the one telling you the story, him, or the media.

They're the ones who can leave out facts even if he's given them the facts.

The media gets to spin anything, anyway they want. It's just how they work. Why do you think ACA and TT are always saying how bad P-platers are, they have the power to do it, and they want people thinking P-platers are the worst thing since the black plague! And seriously, I'm sick of it.

P-Platers may not be the most experienced drivers out there, but how do most people learn to handle there cars? No, not on the race track, by pushing it on the road. I ALWAYS hear stories of how older people "used to do this back in my day" but you get looked down upon by them, even if they did the exact same thing, but even stupider!

Everyones done some bloody damn dumb and stupid/illegal things before.

But, if he has no reason other then "I wanted to/I feel like it/I didn't realise" put him in Jail for 3 weeks or something, and take the car off him permanently, along with his licence for a long time.

it's farkers like this gies us a bad name... damn it, not happy Jan!

second that bro tryin 2 impress his girl by in-dangering the f@#k out of them in a gtr with FA drivin experiance time and a place hey thats why people die in liners and cops target Fast lookin cars n arnt leanent any more. From all of us welldone good effort !!

theres a difference between in-experienced driving and irresponsible driving.

limiting a young driver from getting behind the wheels of certain cars isnt going to make them more experience, just will take away the opporunity to go too stupid.

you can kill yourself in a golf car or a GTR. If his gtr was confiscated he would go out and buy a honda civic and do the same damn thing.

what will fix this? take away his privelage to drive.

PS, im a young P plater aswell and hope this doesnt come accross as a biast opinion, i drive a 33 turbo, i dont muck around on the road and IMO i am a responsible driver, maybe not an experienced one, but i know my limits and under no circumstances come close to hitting them.

what shits me more is that he didn't claim responsibility. if he said "ok, im dumb, im glad no one was hurt, ill just cop the punishment" then we wouldn't think he was a complete dickcheese. guess he was the load his mum should have swallowed.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
