Heathcote 1/6/2003 :P

Recommended Posts

yup.. not many VIC guys with the stock ECU/turbo can get easy 13's like the interstaters.. so i'm wondering. I only managed to just scrape in once that time at calder.

I am just wondering what i should do next? I don't want to spend too much at the moment. Thermo fan and cam gear might help me into consistant 13's for under $700

I dunno about anybody else but I find that i get better times at Calder than at Heathcote.

Best time at Calder 12.3 (with standard clutch)

Best time at Heathcote 12.6 (with Nismo twin plate)

I found that my car axle-tramped off the line at Heathcote, and couldn't get a good clean launch, hence the 12.6

Even the 34 GTR got a 13 sec pass where as at Calder hes managed to get 12.1!?!?!

Yeah, next time... I just need a fuel pump.

Then i'll be right.

should see a mid 13... then maybe i wind up the boost...

But there is one thing though out of the day that really ticked me off.

I think most people there will know what i'm about to say.

It goes like this.

We went over to admire/droll/blow over the 34(RH9) and 33(gtr700) drags cars and we are over there having a look at the cars.

A few guys chatting to them and stuff which was real cool...

Then i stand of the concrete of the shed (everyone else is too).

I get told to 'get off' by this big bozo

i ask 'why?'

'get off or i shut door' (said in neanderthal grunt)

now i just said i'm here to admire the Sky's n stuff.

and then again, told to go away?!?!?

WTF is that ?? It's not as if i'm gonna pinch the engine or his Diff when he's not looking now is it?

Or hide in the boot and make it go slower ?!?! LOL

These guys 'have' a 9 sec 34 (which ran a 12 and sulked back to the shed not to run again that day)

So anyway, we all walk away, dumb-founded by the absolute rudeness. I've never seen anything like it.

Not even the Real PRO cars at the nationals meets i go to.

Then, the driver of comes over to the lowly skyline owners ask to borrow a gear knob from us (why you would forget it is beyond me) so Nismo34 lends him one.

The guy says that we can all come over to look at the car, and Jet33 says that we all got told to go away which was a bit rude, and he says that it was because he wasnt there... but we cant come over now cause we are being rude TO HIM ? ?

These guys need to grow up. We are skyline enthusiast's and all we wanna do is have a chat to

Even the 34 GTR got a 13 sec pass where as at Calder hes managed to get 12.1!?!?!

But his dad was driving it the other time? Correct me if i'm wrong.

I just don't think it was a great day for good times - but anyway, it was a good day out of melb.

I agree with Ash, seemed to be a lot of arrogance on behalf of the 'shed' guys - pretty uncalled for! Just having a look afterall.

Thank you once again to the team at CRD. Fingers crossed we will be in the RH9 club by Monday morning.

Um, guess not

yeah but his dad was driving... BUT the clutch wasn't slipping either.

Or then again it might have been the other way round. TOO confusing.

RH9 club... PFFT the car even has a sticker oin the ass end saying that's it's in the RH9... but doesn't run 9??

GOING?!?!?!?!?

Like me saying my car runs a 10 when it runs a 13 lol

I just remember when i was coming off one of my first runs seeing your car go sideways on the first gear change, that was funny

I might try calder again.. the whole waiting for 15 mins things at both shits me a bit, i just want to go, turn around, come back, and go again till i finally got it right (and have like 10 runs in a couple of hours) :) If i went to calder i guess i'd have to take a half/fullday off work to get there as early as possible.

With winter here, unfortunately its hard to predict the weather to organise anything properly :) You can organise all you like, but if it rains that can screw all the plans.

    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
