Recommended Posts

I've done a few searches and a lot of people seem to recommend them but others say to buy a name brand one.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone that is using them, particularly in an r32gtst.

Any fitting or quality issues?

An actual pic would be great as the pic on the Justjap site isn't of the r32 one.

I have run one of the Cooling-Pro Radiators in my R32 for a year now and its been fantastic, no leaks whatsoever.

1400R: They were well aware of the issues with the filler neck and I believe this has been fixed. I looked at their new ones last time I went by the shop and they appear to be much better.

I don't have a photo of the core before it was fitted but I do have this one of the radiator in place

so why continue to sell faulty goods ?

What a stupid comment.

Its a shame that you had a bung one, but from what I saw they had changes made to the design to strengthen the filler neck, ie they switched from a rolled to a solid neck. and they have a 12 month warranty on all of them - maybe you just didn't deal with the right person when you spoke to them but from what I have seen they generally replace any faulty item no questions asked.

At least 6 people I know use these things and love them, especially for the money compared to the higher cost of a PWR or Jap core.

I know if I was aware of fault on an item I would either point it out to a customer so they are aware of it before they buy it or wait till to sell the item

ps I could have bought a koyo rad for similar money but choose to deal with JJ deal to ease of payment etc

Its pretty simple, you imply that they are all faulty - That is completely incorrect.

We have one on an R32 GTSt race car, no problems and great performance.

It fact, the 40mm one has been so good we even have to turn off the intercooler water spray off in some races as the engine runs too cold!

didnt think I did as I said they have/had a problem means I believe its may have be fixed

Im unaware if a whole batch had the problem or if it was only single items

as I only bought one

next time Im sold something faulty and made to feel like I did something wrong I'll try an be happy about it

yeah, i'd say they are alright for what they are, cheap and reliable, much better than standard if you've upgraded your engine a bit

although i ended up selling mine and buying a "240sx 55mm thick core" one from the US, it was about $80 cheaper overall, although one of the inlet pipes is on a different side, but that doesn;'t bother me, i'm doing custom radiator piping with stainless and silicone, and tapping two holes one for the factory thermostat, the other for a thermoswitch, because with the new radiator my old fan doesn't fit :D too big

but it all lines up fine, the radiator drops into the holes, i reckon check it out, but in the end it'll cost about the same and probably only give marginally extra cooling

Update:

Darron from justjap said the filler necks were mostly billet now.

I ordered a Justjap radiator on Wednesday and received it Friday and fitted it today.

The filler appears to be rolled but doesn't look like it should have issues.

I had to cut an 8mm strip off both side brackets of the radiator and trim the factory cowl so I could fit it.

The new radiator is 10mm less in height than the stock one so I had to put 5mm spacers on the top and bottom mounting posts

The slightly thicker radiator makes it a tight fit with the factory fan cowl and intercooler piping.

I hope my engine mounts are still firm enough to stop the engine coming forward 10mm under brakes.

I've got one which i bought a while ago. My filler leaked a bit but after a bit of bashing and filing it seals 99% now. As for cooling, it does that job well. Extremely well for the price. The top two mounting posts on mine were not in the right position so the rubber mounts are now stuffed but it works.

    • Was there ever a model of the Stagea m35 that didnt have a badge on the grill? I thought I saw that somewhere, some aero edition or something? I cant find it again? davemoto
    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
