Hey,

Anyone here from the Northern Beaches and going to SAU Show N Shine 1 July? Let's organise a meet up at Brooky Maccas and head from there. We could potentially stop at Frenchs Forest Maccas on the way thru depending on which way we take to pick up those too far away from Brookvale.

Please reply or PM if you are interested to set up the best time. Be great to meet the locals.

Cheers,

Justin

Hey guys,

Sounds like a great plan. Let's get some details locked in and times for hook up? We will plan to leave Brookvale McDonalds at 10.30 sharp? Next stop will be Frenchs Forest McDonald to pick up anyone that might be coming from Chatswood. Plan to get there at 10.45? (10 min wait) for a 10.55 departure? How does that sound?

Happy to work around everybody. Next stop would be North Ryde McDonalds (just after the turn off to M2). Does this work with you guys? Around 11.30? for 11.40 leave.

What's the best way to get to Granville from here?

Please get back to Phil and I if this works and if you will be definitely coming. My no is 0406 370 292.

Cheers,

J

From North Ryde, just keep going down Lane Cove Rd past Rhodes and turn onto M4. If you dont mind paying toll, then go through and get off at James Ruse Dr, turn left at James Ruse Dr, turn right at Parramatta Rd until Woodville Rd. Turn left onto Woodville Rd and keep going until you get to Merrylands Rd. Turn right onto Merrylands Rd and go to the park entrance.

OR if you don't want to pay toll, get off the M4 at Silverwater Rd, turn right onto Parramatta Rd and then same directions as above.

yea i wouldnt mind meetin some u guys and pickin ur brains :( live just up at DY hotel.

And that would be two streets from me ;)

Hey Guys,

If you are entering you need to be there probably by 9AM or so to get registered and parked. Judging starts at 10. Lots of good prizes (not just for the "winners") so you should consider entering if.

I'm still up for 10.30 depart from Brooky. Is anyone going to go earlier? Please confirm so we know whether to wait for anyone running late.

Cheers,

J

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
