I'll be there too - I'm a Stage Safety Officer for SS2-12 Montville Hill, SS3-10 Diamondfield, and SS4-8 Brown's Creek. If you see a white R32 GTR with Stage Safety Officer on the windcreen, come and say hi. Street Party Saturday night and the officials party Sunday night should make it a pretty good weekend.

There's a R33 GTR competing too - one to watch out for if anyone's spectating.

I spectated the Belli Creek Rd stage today. The GTR sounded dreadful. There was some VERY loud whistle under throttle, but not a turbo whistle or leaky IC piping whistle either. More like a badly made muffler design whistle that I encountered years ago with a Nelson truck muffler. Nice to see it running, but my opinion it wasn't quick in the section I saw it running.

My pick was a blue XR8 Falcon, a GTV6, an Escort, and Siddins Z-car.

A few of the 911s were worth a look/listen, and a few of the Evo/STi runners were obviously fast too. Vandersee's Skelta must have an exceptionally low centre of gravity and runs like its on rails.

Bring on Peachester tomorrow.

I was up there as well that GTR sounded off.

The GTR was a let down, tidy well presented car, but let down. I heard many rumors getting around Noosa about that car and how quick it was meant to be.. I know the owner made special requests about it not idling more then "30 seconds" when it was in at the Holden Dealership as it fouled plugs or something.

Siddins Zed is awesome! Love seeing him fly up the Hill climb, awesome driver and awesome car! As biased as I am, I loved all the 911's - Kicking myself I couldn't convince the two other directors to foot the entry fee to enter our 911 C2 ;) Always next year :)

Heard the owner of the GTHO was offered $920k and said no? And the owner(s) of the Lamborghini Miura were offered twice what they paid for it 2 years ago? Anyone confirm?

Speaking of the R33 GTR, I Got 2 photos of it in the street festival thing. Not great photos cuz my camera is shit at night with all the street lights etc but these things happen :)

Siddins is always fast. I've had some good dices with him at Morgan Park's QLD SuperSprint Series in the old days with my IPRA Datsun 1200 (2000cc) but he always came out on top. I got him back at last year's QLD Challenge Rally with the GTR though. Anyway, on our stage on Saturday (3-10 Diamonfield) Siddins beat Richards by 3.5 sec, as well as Denyer, Quinn etc. Only the Skelta was quicker IIRC.

That was a good way to spend my last weekend with the GTR - the new owner picks it up next weekend. About 700km of nice country roads over the weekend, and as Stage Saftey Officer I was allowed access to our stages after the road closure  made the 1deg morning at Kandanga worthwhile...

Looked like a good weekend, didnt get time to get up there, i'll blame sebby's wedding for that.

Looked like a nice turnout of cars, Anyone see what happened to the Lambo? all i know is that it crashed, its at work at the moment, looks like it will need a new chassis

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
