Nefret
I got canaried and the cop said i would get a epa notice or something, i have a 3inch exhausts from the turbo all the way thru, FMIC, Air Filter Apexi 1... and the letter EPA sent me was that... along with more but yeah. "It is recommended that you restore your vehicle's emission control equipment back to the manufacturer's design to prevent further action." So i don't get it... are they going to check my vehicle or just it is my first warning so if i get dicked next time they will check it ?? TracidTrax
So i don't get it... are they going to check my vehicle or just it is my first warning so if i get dicked next time they will check it ?? u may or may not have a EPA summons coming to u, u never know with them. Yes they keep on record if u have been submitted to them before and if u get caught again with them non EPA compliant mods theres a strong chance u will be fined Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/174259-epa-notice/#findComment-3198262 Share on other sites
adznight
I've never seen that, both times I've received a letter saying your appointment date is blah blah. I reckon you got off lucky. Did the Officer take pictures of your mods? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/174259-epa-notice/#findComment-3198342 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
Does the notice SAY they are going to check the car? If it doesnt... then... they are not What it says, as paulR33 said, is just that. Either fix it, or then you will be inspected. Makes pretty logical sense to me! Nefret
Adzmax; Nah the officer didnt take a picture of it, he didnt even put my air filter down on my defective notice just my wing and my ride height. R31nismoid; yeah i already took off the air filter and it doesnt say that i have to get it checked just that i have to restore it back to stock ? so im thinking just the stock air filter or my whole exhaust system too ? Do-Luck
It dosen't hurt to make sure you have all the stock bits and pieces handy if you do need to go to the EPA. Word of advice, you are best off returning most of the bolt on modifications to stock to pass the EPA, including aftermarket ECU if you have one.
