Thats f**ked up.Even if you have a mod plate? What about if your car is engineered and had have papers?

Fair enough if you've get a major defect like not having a engine conversion approved but what about simple things like coolers and pod filters?

This is totally and utterly f**ked. Yep another way to waste police time and take them away from real problems. 'ok officer picklestien, dont worry about assaults, robberies, drugs, child abuse, infact lets forget real crime tonight altogether, were gunna go down the BWCP and get Joe BLogs for his pod filter and his rims'. Yeah what away to spend quality police time. And its our taxes that will be paying for this pathetic injustice to which gets me even more pissed. They complain about lack of officer numbers and shit, y dont they have a look at what they're doing to waste quality police time. i agree with the riot idea X3 x4 x5 x6 x7 (gots some mates that will be down to riot). Stick it to the man, and yes like the link said possibly this may add to the number of police related bashings or pursuits. What will be next i wonder, u cant play footy with gloves, u cant wear sweat bands playing basketball, U cant write in red pen, u must have blonde hair, blue eyes. ALL HAIL HITLER!!!! 3RD REICH BACK IN COMMAND. Coming soon to QLD- Automobile Auswitchz.

no skin off my back.. just dont do stupid things attract attention and you wont get caught and defected...

LOL

so dont drive around with a modified exhaust (which practically every skyline has these days) and you wont get caught?

Driving around with a different exhaust tip is enough to attract the ass rammers to your window.

its got nothing to do with dont do something stupid. if anyone can honestly say thats its quiet allrite to loose or have the possibility to loose ur car because of a pod filter or a different gear knob then ur just another beureacratic public servant.they should be concentrating on other shit not wasting everyones time and money on giving us less freedom... better yet lets just go to work pay tax come home and shut ur mouth and sleep then do that all ur life....fix the f**ken roads and infastructure around the place...

People still go cruising?

I guess tho, it is a bit difficult to rectify a defect with your car in impound...

Btw, I have a bright red cefiro, which used to have a VERY loud exaust, pics and mod list on most forums, and I have in 3.5years been pulled over a TOTAL of 3 times. Once I was not paying attention and was speeding, got a fine, they had a quick look under the bonnet, and told me my exaust was a bit nosiy. Another time I was being silly. And once for an RBT. I used to go cruising with 'the group' for a good 2years of that 3.5 years. Seriously if you say its about not being stupid, its just cops hate imports. Wake up, it just isnt. Its about your additude on the road, and going to places where you are going to get done.

Meh who cares, if it happens it happens, modified vehicles esp exhaust keep it legal limit your alright, there will be no real defect then, keep you cat converter your alright, box your pod you'll be ok why wouldnt you box it anyway CAI is better by far anyway, easy enough to solid mount it as well, out of site out of mind I say, that hieght restriction been around for ever really, just keep it at legal limit, FFS if your really worried get a mod plate or eng cert on certain mods, and the easiest of them all is just dont be ffing stupid on the roads. Keep safe and you will be ok.

All this worry about these laws i mean wtf, its not that hard to make certain things legal on your car is it? and still not hinder on performance. All i can say is that EVEN if you did riot what reason have you got to riot, its mainly dickheads in the past that have caused them to mainly come into place ie: (Street drags, racing and the like around the public eye) not on the area it should be at the track/strip. They'll just laugh at you if you riot just throw a little more fuel on the fire. The papers and news would love it.

Worry when it does happen, at the moment its just talk.

cheers

I second that.

I have had my line, as it is, for 5 years, and only ever pulled up once.

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
