Hi guys, Selling my precious - 1996 Nissan Skyline Series 2 GTS-T Coupe 5sp Manual White & has a sunroof! Front Mount Intercooler K & N Pod Turbo Back Exhaust Turbosmart Blow Off Valve Manual Boost Controller Running 10psi Heavy Duty Clutch Full Alpine Sound System Body is series 2 kit but has GTR Wing Car has been lowered Roh Drift R 17" Rims with 235's all round with 80% tread I estimate that my car is running 170rwkw and I get 500 to 550kms per tank of petrol (approx 55litres) which is the best thing about having this beast! Very responsive for a stock turbo! Interior Immaculate.   Ok. What is the go to transmission upgrade that can handle some abuse with around 700nm at the hubs? Must be quiet gears as the car is being street used.

  3rd gear is the most common failure. There is no good idea that contains "just upgrade 3rd gear" in it anywhere.

  I'm surprised to hear that, but then again, I haven't dealt with a low mount turbo in years. I'm presuming it's a space restriction issue. Cheers!

  Ah, that was not the answer I was hoping for. Is it only third gear that is the weak spot? Or do you have to change the whole gearset to make it hold some power?

  You're already well into "gearbox is a consumable" territory there. A billet plate will either make it (effectively) 1% stronbger or make it last one more pass. At some point you'll probably tear 3rd gear into small chunks and regret all the life decisions that came before it.
