NSW guys, looks like the NSW Texikahna is on the 16th September, what does everyone think of crusing down to this as a meet. I'm thinking of entering, just not sure how an auto will do on a motorkahna track.

Any thoughts

I'm still keen, even though I don't own a V35.

Also, anyone in Sydney interested in going to the JDM Style Tuning meet? Should be pretty big (its just a meet and greet, no actual driving) but since I don't think there's ever been a V35 at a meet for a forum for all types of JDM cars I can only imagine how much attention your cars will get.

Thread resurrection.

I've posted an EOI, on 350Z-Tech, for the next cruise. Was thinking mid next month, to give people plenty of advanced warning.

If you guys have any suggestions, I wouldn't mind seeing them either. The pace will not be overly frenetic, but it will be on driver's roads and not just from one carpark in suburbia though the metropolitan area to another carpark in another suburb.

Very keen as well. in the middle of building a house which eats up most weekends, but unless it's something urgent I'll be there.

As for routes, haven't done any in a long long time so I'm up for anything. Bells is great so happy to do that.

Also, anyone interested in a Wakefield private track day for Nissan FM platform cars?

The guys on Tech are raring to go, and it'd be interesting to see the difference between the two cars.

Definately interetsed, but i don't think my auto would be a good groud for comparison :-)

It will be spanked all over the track. Some of the times you guys are posting on tech are damn quick.

My best lap in my V35 is 1:20:xx.

Hopefully I'll get to whack in a second oil cooler for the tranny which will give me a bit more confidence.

Quite a few of those guys have gotten pretty "serious" about track work, and the Z33 has traditionally been more of the sports car than the GT-oriented Skyline. The fact that the Z's been in Australia since 2003 means people have had far more time to set them up too.

But, its about having fun. I was thinking about not running timing so people could just go out and enjoy themselves, but I get the feeling people will still want to know how fast they're going.

OK, official 350Z-Tech cruise details are up.

It is a dawn run, to avoid as much traffic for as long as possible while not doing it in the middle of the night.

The problem with not running it early is that you hit traffic. If I was going to cruise through the metropolitan area only then yeah, I'd run it a lot later. But with the roads we're taking, I'm trying to avoid as many tourists as possible.

I will probably arrange a shorter-length, lunch-oriented, cruise as well in the near future. So maybe a 10:00 start, and with a plan to be at the destination by midday. If someone on here arranges it and is happy to have the "other" FM platform car tag along, then I'll let the Tech guys know and I'm sure they'll be up for it.

Thanks Alan:

No offence, I just felt sad as I am not able to attend, the meet point is too far away from my place.

I had drive to Mt Vicotria with my V35 last month, just a weekend to ZigZag, Had to say that is a realy good drive.

The only problem is the surface of road is poor and so much road noise drive me crazy.

BTW, there is an outstand ITALY resturant on the way with sign: "Wooden oven pizza" or something, stronger recommanded for lunch really nice

Thanks mate. I'll go look for it when I recce run, either tomorrow morning or Monday morning.

The guys have been raring at the bit to go out for a spirited drive, hence the time. I might arrange something a bit gentler and thus a bit later in the day, especially now that we're heading into summer and people might want to do lunch up (or down) the coast.

Arrange a V35 meet, and invite us ;)

I recce ran it yesterday. The open, flowing nature of the roads really suits our cars. Its something you can leave in top gear and effortlessly "waft" on the midrange. Yeah, the surface wasn't ideal though.....and it wasn't much better going to Oberon.

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
