My car idles and drives under load fine. However at low revs when the car goes over a bump surface - eg a pot hole or bumpy intersection etc the car hesitates for a second and then starts pulling. Basically it doesn't accelerate smoothly after going over a bump etc but rather hesitates for a sec then hits all of a sudden - sort of a jerky transition if it makes sense. However once it has done it it continues to drive fine. only does it when the road surface bumps the car or something. Any idea's on what it could be?

I have tries different afm's but hasn't seemed to have changed it - i also checked the solder joints in the afm and they seem to be connected fine. Something must be getting bumped or knocked causing this hesitant / jerk take off.

Car spools up but hesitates to actually move - only for a second or so though.

Does anyone have anyidea's on what it may be?

Thanks

i get that too

i just figure its the lsd kinda doing its work.

when u go over a bump it takes some load off the wheel or something like that

If you do happen to find an answer to it then ill get mine fixed too lol

Have you checked trouble codes, could be CAS

You mean like run a diagnostic? I haven't tried that - not sure how to, but i'll have a quick search around now and see if i can find how to do it - i saw it posted somewhere before

i get a similar problem, but not really on bumpy roads, mine heistates for a second around 2000rpm in 2nd and 3rd mainly, but once its completely warmed up its fine. and if i floor it the problem doesnt occur lol, only when im doing bout 50% trottle , weird.

Yeh seems to do it on half throttle etc more so than full throttle

you got the same issues as i had, lags then pulls and bumo around and it hesitates for a split second. it is your crank angle sensor for sure (CAS).

just bought a replacment and having it installed next week. if u take the car to a tuner and he'll try to adjust the timing, it wont adjust coz the sensor is playing up.

get a new 1 or second hand 1, about $50 second hand, and get it installed and re-tuned. problem will be fixed.

Thanks heaps cheez, I'll get it checked out!

mine does it too...

long shot, but maybe the fuel gets slushed around in the tank and air bubbles get through the line. Causing it to lean out slightly for a short time??

I notice it heaps going over railway lines, but even over man holes and stuff it will too.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
