Auto Shift Kits

Umm i have been told the basics of a shift kit for an auto .... but i dont get the differences of the stages... i got told there is stage 1, 2, 3, and 4 ....

Does a stage 4 essentially make it a manual??

I'm mainly asking because of the topic about cutting the wire to the auto ecu thingy...... however i would rather do it properly..

Also with a shift kit..... do i have to changes gears up and down ( eg ... move it back to first when i stop at a set of lights??) or if i leave it in drive it will changes gears automatically still??

There are 2 places that i would go thru, one from MV Automatics in adelaide, and the other from Knox Automotive in melbourne. I have used the latter and couldnt be happier with the product.

But both groups are super friendly to deal with.
