Oil Catch Tank & Avcr

Recommended Posts

Have installed Both today as well as K&N pod (was a HKS mushroom filter before). Ces split dump the day before.

Everything was fine although when driving have a ticking sound when coming on boost, had a look under bonnet and noticed when car is idling the hoses to the catch tank are crimped as if being sucked shut.

Is the AVCR s soliniode making that ticking sound maybe.

Power FC is reading knock levels quite early in the rev range at about 3500.

Any ideas....

Unplug the solenoid and go for drive, see if it doesn't make the noise.

Thanks fo that just the soliniode, think I will have to get tuned again.

Anyone got any thoughts on the oil lines crimping.

No, no re tune needed just unplug the solenoid to test if that's where the noise is coming from...

If the noise stops when unplugged it's all is all good, it's just the solenoid.

Chuck the catch in the bin, plumb the breather back into the intake.

the ticking sound will definately be your avcr, if you have the solenoid bolted onto anything metal.

i have mine bolted onto my strut tower and when boost comes on, i hear ticking sound. Nothing to worry about

In a way, it says to me that its doing its job.

If you don't want the ticking sound, put some rubber or foam etc. between where you bolted it onto and the solenoid.
