Edit first post...hi all, im heading back up to L'ton 2morrow, not for a retune (although i just had my new turbo fitted/fkn awesome and angry sounding!) although it wont be to far away, just decieded to hold off until i deciede what injectors i will go with, then i'll change the fuel, have injectors fitted and Z32afm done all at the same time. anyway getting off the topic, I have a turbo we took of a mates car to replace with a bigger one, now, when he bought the car the guy insisted it had a hi flow turbo, i just happened to have my stock 33 turbo handy to compare them and there doesnt seem to be much difference, im even thinking it might be a 33 stock turbo, but anyway anyone with some knowledge who could have a look 2morrow would be welcomed! I will be there about 10ish until late afternoon, if i cant get insight from a sau member i guess i will take it to brad sherrif and see if he will take a look/identify for me, as its no longer wanted by its current owner (he would like to recoupe some $$ towards his new turbo) and i have offered to sell it for him once it is propperly identified, so if youre about in L'tn 2morro and can help, shoot me a mssge on 0413239099 and i'll meet with you somewhere, cheers Damo

Im free if you want to catch a really bad fever and a chest infection.

Hope everything goes well with your tune... give me a msg on here when its done and let me know how it went

hey ben, car wont be ready until late today, not sure on how its gunna turn out as i ended up taking the advice of my mechanic and stayed with premium fuel for thew tune, brad wasnt to impressed with the decision so we will see how it goes, im in mulgrave street at my brothers house atm.

was my car still out there? GTR with no front bar, undercoat black bonet and guard, and getting semi slicks fitted?

I'll probably be out there this afternoon getting my car and old tyres.

yeah it was being moved to out the front when i pulled up at 11am

depends, my tyres aren't in Launceston, if he came home through the Frankfourt H/Way I could send it with him.

that explains why duggan and parker workers didnt know anything about any tyres! got the car back, pretty happy, just broke the 200kw mark (just a safe tune for now), heading back up in a week or and having it re tuned on bp ultimate, brad stated he would be happy to push it a bit more when it is retuned i could be looking at an extra 30-50 kw... wooooot!

I think you were leaving after i poped in too see how my car was going. I was in a Green Deawoo.

didnt notice, was mad keen to see how the old girl went, no matter, i can up in a weeks time when im back up there

Damo, Thats a pretty decent amount considering it's only a safe tune. hopefully with a new turbo and 98ron you should be able to join the 300kw club.

sav man, do you want to just drop them into Bursons Launy and they will send them accross to me. just Att. David Guest, C\- Burson Auto Parts Burnie.

Well, its that time.... Last of the mods for now; Z32AFM and 555 injectors, tune/dyno run. looking forward to it, as last time i went up i was only running premium fuel/standard turbo and Brad was only prepared to do a safe tune. This time round I have the Vg3o + inj and afm as well as supporting mods. I think the biggest hiccup will be trying to get in the driveway! My new front bar is extremly low. Im actually trying to get a hold of DJRIFT as i wanna pick up a tailsshaft for a mate, if anyone knows him well enough could they contact him so he can forward his mobile or tell me where he works. (he did tell me sometime ago, but i have forgotten). If anyones going to be about 2morrow let me know, cheers Damo

well back from getting the work done, and tune... well sort of , work was performed but they neglected to tell me that the dyno wasnt operational! fark! it had a tune without going on the dyno, "a road test tune" so back up on the 17th to get it dynoed and see what kw's she is pumping out the one posative thing that was said was that it felt strong, so i guess that makes me feel slightly better with the situation, thanks to DJRIFT for meeting me with the part my mate needed, cheers Damo

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
