woooohah.

what a day. I had a good time and came up with some decent times. It was my first time at a timed event and the track was very tight and scary in places.

I was the one that came off the track and it was a fairly scary experience. on my previous run I did a 1.46 and it was a very tidy run.

Coming over the last crest downhill (just after the cone that was next to the oil) i started to oversteer i lifted off and got the car straight, but by then my front left was on gravel and it was all over  i was doing about 70k's. after that it was a 20 metre slide down dirt and a big scare.

no one was hurt and there was no damage to the car. I really think the course was too dangerous for first timers with hipo cars.

big thanks to the organizers. they did a good job and their efforts were greatly appreciated. it ws also really nice to meet such a good bunch of people.

I had a GREAT day and I thought that the back circut cas AWESOME!

My first run wasnt to bad - 1 minute 47.04 seconds, but I hit one cone.

The second was slower - 1 minute 50.02 seconds.

But my third run shot me right up into some of the fastest of the day with a 1 minute 43.08 seconds! Not bad for a little R32 Gtst running street tyres :)

Im stoked about my times, my car and by the whole day, big thanks to everyone involved!

EDIT: Yes I WAS faster than Michelle (LadyBytes) who was egging me on all day about being beaten by a girl :yucky:

Congratulations :P

I think your time was awesome and a result of both skill and those awesome Federal tyres which made me very jealous on the day.

It impresses me that you aspired to be faster than a lady on the day. It really does go to show that us ladies are making our marks and it seems it did make you more determined :)

Also, I happen to have some fantastic video footage on my in car cam (as I returned from my lap and hadn't switched off yet) of you celebrating your score as you walked up to my car. Can you remember that little dance? The one which involved you grabbing at certain regions with both hands and thrusting? Its not on youtube YET!!!

Just wait til I get Federal 595's on the GTR - Although I'm in the GTR... I'm pretty certain your HP is up on mine, so I say its GAME ON at the SDMA Hillclimb on Sunday 30 September http://www.sdmahillclimb.com/ and I'm happy to risk a case of beer... even with your HP. Are you up for it?

Nah! honestly, you did really well out there, good work.

EDIT: You just may get me at the Hillclimb if you continue aspiring to drive like a woman

well i just got see the footage bahahaha Mick is on fire ;) but what are the finger signals you are doing while dancing ???

They would be the fingers telling me his time on that last run... ONE : FOUR: THREE fingers

It should start a new trend I think...

^^ X3

Is the driver of the white R31 on here? I witnessed some insane corner entry's on the back track. He came up over the jump, sideways before the apex, and then linked the left hand sweeper. Mighty impressive

that was me, yeah it was alot of fun, i had a ball. out of the 3 runs on the back track i did, 2 of em i was just having fun drifting, after all its what my car is for, haha

im also pretty happy that the 1 grip lap i did i managed a 1:46, not bad for a 100rwkw NA RB30 and pretty crappy tyres. i dont know where that puts me in realation to everyone else, but im pretty impressed to be as quick as some of the faster skylines

the skidpan was a bit of fun, altho its a lot better with no cones. i wasnt trying to do good times on that just trying to drift as much as possible, so i did a 31 which wasnt particularly quick i dont think, but still a bit of fun.

im looking forward to the next one, and hopefully we can all get a few more runs, especially on the back track

How good was it, I can't wait for the next one!!! I might bring the starlet out just for fun :)

Congrats to everyone from the capital, cause I think we all did really well, showed them sydneysiders how to do it!!! Lets make sure we all do it again.

Even though I had an no passanger seat (costly wait) I should of got the camera in the car, I was really happy all day long with my times. Stiill about a second or two to catch but the 165/70 13 tyres weren't liking me much, and the rear brakes wouldn't stop locking, to little wait out back, made fore some interesting front wheel drifting though :)

Gotta do it again. Full stop!!!

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
