r u gonna import 1 or buy 1 locally?

coz importing a 4 door 34 is really cheap....about 13-14k. but a 2 door would cost u a bit more

Hi, im thinking of buying one locally, not sure of the import procedures and im not confident of buying a vehicle without having a test drive or visual inspection

=)

How much do you think i shld pay for a 2 door?

You'd be suprised though, quality fluctuates badly. I've had tools trying to get my GTt for 18K as they've seen one there cousin Meppy has bought for the same price and think they can get one too. Yeah well cousin Meppy just bought two halves welded together and the interior is rough.

I've now told 3 people to bugger off with offers only $500 under what I wanted, I'm not giving them a free bonanza! Look around and you'll find something decent for a good price. Definately under $20K my R34 is a GTt and is fairly mint with over $10K of mods....I'm chasing $23000 so you should be able to get a good priced car.

Hi 666Dan,

Ur car really looks mint, considering the mods, 23k is pretty attactive, too bad im not in the market for a turbo =P

18K? must be joking , thats probably what i will pay for a stock 98 model =)

u deserve better offers than that mate =)

Expect to pay more for a stock car..

Expect to pay more for an NA locally too.. these P plater laws have inflated NA's to rediculous prices!.. SSS's (for eg.) are STUPIDLY expensive!

thanks for the tip, i didnt know that stock car commands a higher price

saw quite a few AT turbo GT-Ts going at arnd 18k...

very attractive but im sticking to NA due to insurance and P plater laws haha

yup u r right i sold my NA MT R33 GTS S2 for arnd 11k a couple of weeks back and since regretted it =P

hey guys,

found a 98 R34 sedan GTX for 12k No visible rust ,car done 70k and stock as a rock

any comments?

thanks =P

Seems like a very good price for the GTX model, as it is basically a turbo model without turbo features. Not entirely sure on specs but i think you'll find they have the same suspension, wheels, brakes as the turbo model but still a non-turbo.. maybe some more features too but that's all i can confidently say i know.

have to disagree with lanky ^ in that an NA GT-X is basically a turbo spec car. if you look through the translated links (hopefully they work) with spec tables of each model you'll find that the NA GT-X doesn't have the same 'Mechanism' or "Tyre/Wheel" specs as the turbo models. Where if you look at the GT-V column it does share the same items as the turbo models (2nd link shows this better, click on 'major equipment list').

click through all the links anyway and have a read for yourself.

hope this helps you some more

Hi Reggie

Thanks for the input. In fact im pretty confused about the specs of the NA sedans as per my earlier post. I referred to the website u have posted and for 98-00 models there are no GTV models. only GT and GTX . GTV models are only available from series 2. As for the specs. my understanding is GTX has front strut bar xenon headlamps and 16 inch rims over the GT spec... not sure if thats correct though

Need further advice on this

Regards

Thanks for the links Reggi34dr, just the info I was looking for.

ewhs check out this sublink if you haven't already: http://72.14.203.104/translate_c?hl=en&amp...SPEC/soubi.html

Compares all the S2 models.

Thanks Dicer =p

Visited the page before but its a literal transalation from katakana haah had a good laugh over it

S2 has much better specs even for its base models but dun really like the front bar though

Thanks for clearing that up. Is it the GTV with similar spec or am i totally off the ball here?

Not exactly true on there being no GT-V's in the Series 1 run. The GT-V's first rolled out Sept/Oct 1999 making them a S1 which is what mine is. This is probably the reason the GT-V only shows up in Series 2 brochures, specs sheets, etc.

Thanks for clearing that up. Is it the GTV with similar spec or am i totally off the ball here?

Yeah lanky, just the GT-V. From what I've noticed the GT-X has the florally/stripey interior keeping it inline with the rest of the NA models where the GT-V has the same 2 tone interior as the turbo models. Thats probably the easiest way to tell the difference between a NA GT-X and a GT-V, without lifting the bonnet or getting down and looking for the HICAS. the GT-V will the the GT-T 17" mags anway, another easy visual clue.

My 98 R34 has dun 40,000kms but that very low really. 70,000kms is good, fair amount for the year and type of car.

I was also in this predicament a little while ago, either a 34 25GT or a GTT. Both auto.

Let me say, the auto is magic, i was VERY reluctant to get an auto GTT but the tiptronis is far beta than i thort and brings power on much much better than using nrml auto mode.

Good luck searching buddy

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
