There well supported but a tad basic for street R33(Stinger version) and waste spark etc.You would need the top model to do it right so best to look for a plugin like PFC or Wolf etc. You need Idle speed,VVT,, boost, Aircon request, and closed loop minimum for a nice road car, Stinger uses it outputs for tacho, fuel pump control etc leaving you short on outputs.Ive seen fuel pumps hard wired cause theres no outputs left so if going EMS look for their topend model, and as your saying the price is cheap i think your talking Stinger. The real upside it EMS are fantastic ppl to deal with.

Thanks NIB. I think in the end I may go Wolf, just a shame the dashes are not availble until they find another supplier. IMO PFC's are not really a good choice considering what they are and feature for the prices people are asking, you need to run Z32's with them which is an additional cost and nothings guaranteed because its all 2nd hand now. In comparision (for cost) there are many better choices, the only thing they have going for them is the support for tuning.

Anyway my intake/turbo setup is..

HKS GT2530

SARD BOV

3" Turbo back exhaust (inc stainless steel dump/front)

Hi flo cat

Pod

With an ECU i suppose i should get around 300rwhp?

will be putting one of these in my 32 very soon spoke to a mechanic who tunes these all day everyday he was telling me he tuned a 32 rb20 only mods he had was pod filter after market intercooler and 3'' cat back exhaust and the thing pulled 197rwks on 10psi will let yas know what mine pulls out when i get it done

I find that very hard to believe.. must have been a very generous dyno..

Will need a good Turbo for that.

stinger is a great little ecu for a basic setup converting a car on a carby to an efi setup.

For a nissan it's not a good move.

how come??

my car has made over 400 hp@ 27psi on NIB's dyno with the stinger. stock internaled rb20...

my best mate converted a series2 rb25 into his r32 with gt30 and stinger and that made close on 400 aswell

there an awesome bang for buck ecu, u dont need to wire it up as a standalone it can be pickybacked aswell meaning you keep a few outputs.

they have just realesed a whole new range aswell which would be worth looking into

I like the stinger myself , I had one not long ago running a turbo efi converted A14 in a datsun 1200 ute.

Power numbers themselves aren't a measure of how good an ecu is, the setup is a complete pain in the ass compared to things on the market that have plug in abillity to suit the RB nissans. But If you like mucking around then why not?

hows the fuel ecconomy on yours?

yeah true i can understand the wiring up as being an issue to some, but it made life a hell of alot easier to me (managed to ditch most of it from the exhaust side)

agreed on the power thing but 27psi on the internal map sensor... no need to upgrade to bigger sensor unlike some of the more expensive ecu's on the market.

fuel ecconomy is like any hard tuned car,I see 350km to a tank with light driving and with full throttle hill runs type driving (on off on off) ive seen up to 400 a tank

You must be kidding. Is that even possible with such mods? I find it hard to believe man. As bubba said, must be a very generous dyno.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
