GtSkylinePeTe
Hey, Im about to buy a 1996 Skyline GTS25 N/A. My plans are to do mostly body work and stero for the first year or so, mainly because this is my first car and im not really after alot of power yet. However im sure one day i will want to turbo it, Is it hard to bolt on a turbo and be able to produce a good amount of power, eg. TO be able to beat the gtst, how much do you think a bolt on job would be. Also how much does the GTS25 1996 Skyline produce stock (kw), And please say they can woop the nissan pulsar sss's and lancers. Cheers!. Nismodified
SSS, lancer??? HELL yes mate. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/18224-becomming-a-t/#findComment-380466 Share on other sites
nismoman18
its not worth turbocharging an NA unless you really love the car. if in future you want a turbo, its better to buy a factory turbo, too many problems and costs arise from turbcharging an NA skyline. And you have to be joking about beating sss and lancers, they dont even compare Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/18224-becomming-a-t/#findComment-380718 Share on other sites
GtSkylinePeTe
Well looks like the GTS is going to be a good first car. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/18224-becomming-a-t/#findComment-381217 Share on other sites

GtSkylinePeTe
Wat bout the B16A does it give that a floggin? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/18224-becomming-a-t/#findComment-382033 Share on other sites
Nismodified
well, first off, with a honda engine like the b16a u need to launch good, then redline each gear, change gears well just so the engine stays in its power band, the agressive cam, vtec zone. if this happens u are in a run for your money, but if u drive equally as well, u should be ahead. if the b16a cant drive, well, its not much of a contest Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/18224-becomming-a-t/#findComment-383097 Share on other sites
NA_R33
Haha yeah my car beat a b16a CRX, i have a fairly heavy stereo system and had another passenger. Only engine mods i have is a HKS Super Drager Exaust seems to go good enough for me. I personally think the NA Skylines perform particularly well from 100k's upwards. like accelaration from 100kph is really good. Neone agree?? geordie
Mine gets from 100-160 very nicely, with out effort infact, i am keen to put some more power into the car though, xtractors etc, any one considered adjustable cam gears, its about 500 a set for the hks items, any thoughts.......oh BTW N/A skyline makes for a very good first car. NA_R33
cheers, it was my second car i bought and did up a vl when i was about 16, made double what i payed for it, and then had enough for my car, yeah exactly what do the adjustable cam gears alow cause i though there was no point without aftermarket cams?? as the lift and duration would already be at the optimum with the factory cams/settings?? nismoman18
oh hell yeah they perform well, i had a group C racing driver in my car showing me the lines on QLD raceway, he was very impressed, and said that its very fast for a non turbo. i was happy he raced an excort with a sierra cosworth engine in it, and they are FASt Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/18224-becomming-a-t/#findComment-403517 Share on other sites
