Hi everyone! I'm a newbie so help me out please

I live in Gold Coast Queensland......

Can someone suggest me in how I go about this.....(this might be long to read)

couple of days ago I was pulled over buy police officer who claimed that my tail light was painted!!!!!!!

All the R32 4doors have dark tail light and so thats what I told him but he said that its definately painted!!!!!!! :)

I went to Queensland transport to ask them to prove that its stock tail light but they couldn't help me.... (no-ones a skyline specialist there....)

I went to a Nissan dealership..... They said they can't check if its stock since they don't have one in hand to compare....

I am planning to go to a import car dealer to see if they could ( but not much hopes there....)

I can only think of skyline compliance place that might be able to help me out but duno where there is one near the Gold Coast.

The police that pulled me over has had an eye on me for a while now so I noe if I just paid the fines he will try the same thing again and I need my points!!!

pleeeeeeeaseeeeee someone help me in other ideas and skyline compliance place!!

:)

go to a wreakers and see if they have a taily off the same car as u and if they r both the same, buy it and take action against the ticket.

or bring it with u wen u contest the ticket and scratch it and show them no paint comes off.my four door 33 has painted tail lights but they are painted the same colour as the car and the actual lights are not blackened or tinted. all i can say is if it was me and i was sure that i didnt paint them and he didnt believe me i wuda got out my keys and scrapped the lights to show no paint peeling off, wud need a new tail light but at least no points lost and prob cheaper than fine.depends if the lights look darker than stock wen on at night.

maybe u need brighter light bulbs and if the coppers on the watch out for u, invest in some new lights

Thanx MUD! neva seen dat before :3some:

but I duno if he will buy that since its on youtube.... will give it a try!!

Hi long33.... the policeman didn't let me out of a car since it was on the busy street but maybe I should bring it to him now and scrape a bit of tail to show him huh??? good idea!

Anybody know a compliance centre for skyline near gold coast or brisbane???

Hi 53XYN! thanx heaps..... hope they can help me out coz RACQ didnt since Im not their member ;)

Apparently the break lights are not the issue... its the whole tail been dark... so he says its tinted or painted. I wish they knew about cars before they can give us tickets.

I'll ring them tmrw! thank you!!!

Hi Benno-... tails got cracks and not that new anyhow... so I thought it might be ok.

its the last result.....i guess

but the thing is its not only to get away from the fine. Paying fine is alright but the police are gona give me ticket for it again and again unless I can prove it now and keep that on record.

Why dont you get another person with a 4 door 32 or other people with 32s and take them to the cop station with you? Its a bit annoying for you i guess, as all of them are definately like that, i'd certainly be annoyed and wouldnt want to cop the fine for no reason!

Hi BoostdR32!

I don't know any other R32 4 doors...... its abit of a problem trying to get them to come to police station with me unless they are stock 4 door.

I thought of buying an old catalogue NISSAN had it out when the R32s came out.

I saw few of them in yahoo auction. They have to know that its stock if its in Nissan catalogue I think......

To Clear it as if it was a defect you can take it to a qualified complinace workshop and get a letter stating that the lights are factory standard items .. also give a few places like autoterminal , www.nismo.com.au a go they might even pop a letter in a fax for u ..

NISMO is a good idea!!! I neva thought of that! They are in NSW though aren't they.....

Might as well give it a try!

Thanx johnbarry88! I love my little baby too! most of the police knows jack shit about cars....

That guy could've written tickets for more worse stuff... but hey! Wat can I do when they donno shit but to prove them wrong!

hey there, ill help u out if u need it.. i have a 4door 32  i think i seen your near ashmore aswell i parked bihind u for liek 5 mins.. urs looks nice eh.. i was workin at AH motors behind archers with my car a while back..Im in at helensvale btw :nyaanyaa: 0401 401 949 if u need help ay :ninja: BTW a hint.. i drive around with my lights on 24/7 looks brighter and yer.. so i can avoid the silly cops thinking my lights are tinted...plus it looks better :P lol @ cops :(

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
