I've got a CF bonnet on mine and when I took it over the pits with it on there was no complaint and the car passed fine.....it wasn't stickered though....i was just transfering the rego from NSW plates....but ive been pulled over since and never been had for it.....although my car is gunmetal and it blends in quite nicely.

In hindsight though I probably wouldn't have bought one....only reason I got it was because I wanted more cooling with the vents for track days.

But cops can give you a yellow for just suspecting that there is something illegal about the car.....the fact that everything i have done (apart from the bonnet) has been very understated..(painted black etc) has helped me a lot when pulled off the road for simply driving.....when they crack open the bonnet all they see is a very stock looking engine bay and they forget all about the bonnet.....I don't have pods, I only have a black R32 GTR cooler with black piping, no polished anything, no bright coloured hoses, a very understated muffler etc

If the car is a colour that clearly shows the bonnet then I would probably steer clear of it.

how much was the east bear one?

the nismo one i got which i'm sure you know of weighs 6kg and cost just under $6k looks the shit though...

Looking at the standard of your 13, just farkin DO IT! When you get stickered then paint it! Its what i did back in the day to the 33R

Not sure on the cost as it was on the car Nathan but I'd hazard guess it was a heap cheaper! For example the east bear carbon fibre undertray costs $5k whereas the Nissan factory one or the GTR is supposed to be $13k!!!

I'm over worrying about it now haha

I got yellow stickered 3 times for cf bonets... lol.. if you are still interested, I'll sell you mine~~

3 Times damn... how did they do it... just pull you over and do you for your bonnet? What reasons did they give?

contact the DPI man, there is ther only way to know for sure, they'll probably have to research n get back to you.

ask to speak to the technical department, they'll know if you can "get away" with it or not

but regardless, if you get pulled over by police, and they deem it as illegal they give you the yellow sticker within their rights and you still have to get the car inspected, which is still a pain in the butt

    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
