Hi Guys

I am really curious to get some good info on this - I have personally had some really good result with steel turbine wheels on my STOCK gtr turbos (I actually bought a pair of CORES - no housings - and fitted them into my stock housings. The place I bought them called them N1 cores (but I have since been told they are not? Just stock cores with steel wheels?).

Anyways - I am curious as to how stock GTR32/33 turbos with steel wheels compare to the likes of N1's - so for what I know is that:

- stock turbos are .42 comp and .48 exhaust

- (some) N1's are .42 comp and .60 exhaust

Stock turbos spool up a bit earlier than N1's - but N1's are good for a bit more power?

Like to keep this topic about steel wheel stock turbos and N1's

Would really value some good dialogue on this. Cheers!

Stock turbo with steel wheels are smaller than N1's.

So logic dictates the stock turbos are more responsive, less power.

While the N1's are a bit larger, so less response and more power

Not a lot more to it than that mate.

Stock steel wheel'd turbos will pump 270rwkw or so. N1's closer to 300, or 320/330 if they are the big ones.

They will just be the same as stock turbos (if the wheels are near enough to stock size), with just a tad more peak as you can run a bit more boost safely.

They wont make leaps more power though. Just without the worry of them shitting themselves

Thanks for that!

so like R34 N1's (0.60 comp) would make 320 ~ 330?

Would a BIG ARC cooler help squeeze more than 270 out of the stock steel wheel ones (or the N1's for that matter)?

Cheers
