*******NEW QUESTION, SEE POST 8**********

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP/ADVICE, I ONLY WANNA SPEND THE MONEY ONCE.

ok ive just ordered a r33 series 2 half cut, motor box computer etc all there.

Its going into my vl, what is the easiest and cheapest way to get to 250rwkw safely and able to run it all day??? car already has fmic 600x300x76 and will have full 3 inch turbo back exhaust. i guess what i want to know is just with these mods and an upgraded turbo could i retune the stock ecu to achieve the 250rwkw. staying with standard injectors? the vl already has big fuel pumps.

thanks in advance

Edited by scott_to4

ok so ell me then would this be achievable? or would i need bigger AFM or would aftermarket ecu negate this?

100% stock internal rb25det.

600x300x76 FMIC

3 inch mandrel bent turbo back exhaust

bigger injectors and pumps (budget $500 as i alreadhy have pumps)

aftermarket ecu (budget $2000)

appropriate BB turbo (budget $2000-$2500)

high mount exh manifold and possible external gate (budget $1000-$1500)

Ok so with the above setup could i reach 275rwkw through a standard gts-t r33 manual box? prob need new clutch.

so with around a budget of say $6000 is that possible?

thanks in advance

So now your not doing it on the cheap?

I suggest you should search around as this thread is heading down the path of all the others (being locked, because its been answered sooo many times)

In particular read this thread:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t55845.html

Is has all the results, parts used and so on. So basically you'll find out what fits your requirements quite easily.

turbo - 30/40 .82 or 3540 .82

china exhaust manifold - 300 or - extreme turbo manifolds - 1grand

ecu microtec

injectors - nismos or sards

wastegate 5 - 700

theres ur 350 kw

10psi  Ive found cars "feel" better when running a lot of boost.

Not sure if its actually faster which is probably anorther thread all together.

Running 1bar now, my car feels good/progressive @ 250rwkw, but getting in a mates EVO with 250rwkw 20+psi... its just savage like my car was with 350rwkw/24psi etc.

Would be interesting as you could go a smaller 450hp turbo and screw tins of boost into it to get the power, just depends if it will nose over in the top end though which is possible.

The 500hp GT30 will crank 275rwkw easily (around 17psi is what i did it on), but the difference from 17psi to 24psi was really interesting

the words 'cheap' ,'reliable' & 'fast'. You can only choose 2 of the 3.

Alot of truth right here. please take note.

ps. You dont need a highmount to get to that power goal, so save yourself the $$ on the highmount with external gate, because you can easily acheive your goal with a lowmount retaining the stock manifold, and spend the money elsewhere. ie. fueling.

600x300x76 FMIC = $365 justjap

3 inch mandrel bent turbo back exhaust $1k

bigger injectors and pumps = dont bother, ive seen stock injectors run this power

aftermarket ecu (budget $2000)

high flow R34 turbo, or a VG30 rear housing on your existing turbo 1.5k ~ or spend a tad more and get a HKS GT-RS bolt on nengun 2.2k

forget the highmount, save $$ on water/oil lines and changing dumps

then you have to add labour....

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
