The crowd boo'd because they were expecting the win to be handed to Dick Johnson in the Sierra as he was leading when the red flag went out, AFTER richards had crashed.

However race rules state that the leader on the last lap BEFORE the red flag wins the race, thus richards took the win, took the boo's and called them all assholes
