haha, at first i thought ben was doin it on purpose, then he pulled over and i was like

but thankfully it wasnt anthying bad!

spewin we missed the tunnels though!

Craig, continuing from the accident thread.

I get looks and sAfrican Americans all the time man. Every from my own family, especially my dad.

One night at tea we were sitting down eating and I was telling him something about my car. He got up and walked into the kitchen came back with the bin and put it on the table then said to me "Here, put your money in here" and walked out.

yeah, some people just dont understand the passion mate.....

my GFs mum was the same, but i got her good,

she smokes and plays pokies, atleast i had something to show for my money!

I WIN OLD LADY!

you work hard for your money, do what you wish with it imo!

cant you just weld it up Cubes, or is it totally stuffed??

I could try all though the heat may? damage the actuator, nothing to loose though I guess lol.

I need to replace the actuator any way as when tuned the most boost it would hold was 17psi and now with similar ambient temps its down to 16.6psi.

Wound a heap of preload on to it ~10-15mm but made no difference. The gate is being blown open which is partially due to the dump design but its better than having boost creep as its easily fixed. :)

if you get water onto it straight away it should stop the heat travelling down the metal, if you can get it off i could have a go at welding for you as i work at Ascott welding :P

Thanks for the offer but its all done. I only have an arc welder but its fine for little jobs like this. The weld appears to be plenty strong.

The old man has a mig but be buggered if i can get the travel speed + wire speed + amps + gas all sorted out to get a decent weld. :P

Now to find the end bit that screws on and attaches to the wastegate flapper arm. Hopefully I didn't leave it in the engine bay last night when it was dark while I was cursing. :S

FREE STUFF!!!

-bleed valve

-rb25 top radiator hose

-R33 door sills

-rb25 turbo heat shield

-mushroom pod filter (not the best for the bigger power cars (sufficated my 33 after 3000 rpm)

come get it if ya want anything.i dont need it!

    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
    • With ordering the belt, you're doing water pump and the idler and tensioner at the same time too yes?
    • This is just a dumb way of keeping the wastegate closed to make more boost. Undo it and either follow the factory setup or redo it properly. Manual boost controllers just use a spring preload to determine when to close in response to boost pressure so it no longer vents to atmosphere.
