haha, that's great.

When I worked at Adelaide Engine we used to sell second hand Scania & Volvo pistions for $20 as they made great ashtrays (ie. the combustion chamber is built into the top of the piston).

SLED, spoke to a good friend of mine tonight who is a tech at toyota, There is a recall on the 200. The vaccumm pump accumulator valve opens far too much causing the motor to burn excessive oil...This can be fixed with a simple flash of the ecm. Toyota do it on warrentee, Also if you get a spungy brake pedal it's because the Diaphram in the master cylinder has a slit in it rather than a hole..hard to explain over the net. But Minor things and will be fixed for free.

So many lines up for grabs these days! Infact, even I'm barely keeping hold of the GTR. Still up in the air about if I'll sell it, or keep it...

If my $ improves, then I'll keep it for another year!

haha im in the exact same sittuation, gotta figure out what i wanna do before the years insurance is up. very very tempted to go down the chaser route

^ i know you guys are confused now so im going to pretend you didnt just say that :(

godzilla can not be replaced by some sort of "chaser" possible meaning to the name lagging behind :D

and pete keep your damn hands off mine :( and if you mod a vspec 2 32 there will be some gheto like behaviour out of me

ah, thanks for the heads up.........I'll print this out and point these things out when I get the service done :(

but seriously mang, your money, your choice, no point the whole of SAU telling u to get volks, and you wishing for the rest of your rim ownership that u got gtr's... maybe you can get gtr and spend 600 on brakes? id go gtr and rotor upgrade over the 37's.

    • Ha, I've never pressed the X in all these years incase it removed the notification for all Admins
    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
    • Semi slicks are horrible for road use, just use a high performance road tyre unless you really need the maximum grip. Noisy, unpredictable (amazing, until they are not), expensive due to very high wear and not good in cold and particular wet. And yes, it is a thing to store cars on stands instead of tyres if you know they are going to be parked up long term.....but who ever realises that a short park is going to stretch into years before it is out again!
    • I know in Australia you'll definitely get above 30c. Parked in the shade in Summer you'll be above that. 😛 But in cooler climates, you might get that warm driving on the highway for a bit, but you'd never get to full heat temp. I'll try and find some of my historical tyre temps between Aus summer and winter (be aware immin the warmer area of Aus too.)
