Ill lend you mine then :) biggest s box of them all. people can't cross it without staring

understand the feeling though its a pain in the rear trying to deal with these companys when they want to be difficult. shame customer satisfaction is not a top priority

Tafe cert 3 is a waste, Ben and I had this discussion a few weeks ago,,, the IT market in Adelaide is saturated which drives the pay down, but hey if you want a job, EDS helpdesk will hire you... they will hire anyone with a heartbeat and can turn on a PC..lol

a few good jobs exist in IT, mostly working out on military projects in the dirty north.

too many kids will work in IT for 25k in this town..lol when before they would command 45k + which is still lousy pay for how much you have to know

Yeah it took me a long time to earn the wage I get now, and its all based upon actual skills (I'm not yet RHCE certified but close)... $35-45k jobs were all I was able to get up until a couple of years ago when I had some specific skills that were required (and my 15 years experience in the field).... EDS, CSC, etc are all big corps that pay a decent wage for their employees however it can be a bit like shooting yourself in the foot - you can get stuck doing mundane work without actually learning anything and thats where the problem lies - in IT you constantly have to be upskilling as the industry changes every few months (hardware, software, marketing directions, financial climate etc)... and it can change very very quickly.

If I was doing in Syd what I'm doing here, I'd probably be earning another $20k on top... that seems to be the general rule of thumb... only downer is Sydney is expensive and that extra $20k really negates itself in terms of lifestyle.. hopefully we start getting paid more as our cost of living increases but so far its been a bit disappointing.

Other thing with IT is that there are loads of people who say they deliver services, such as onsite companies and PC repair shops but the actually skilling is generally disapoointing. There are also a lot of dodgy people in the IT game that don't care about reputation or the quality of their work and they let it down for everyone. I've had the fortune to work at some great places (like my current employer) but sad to say at least half the places I've worked have left me very disappointed with their ethics, management or simply their procedures (or lack thereof)...

-D

EDIT : The only things that are defence related in IT are generally software development. DSTO is a client of ours and we look after their infrastructure and certain niche applications but the lions share of defence work is code.

the GKtech stuff is normally pretty good i have not really ever heard of any complaits on NS which is where Greg sells most of his stuff. Reason it look shitty on the inside is because it's welded on the inside, pretty much all the other dumps (Advance, CES) are only welded on the rear of the flange and not on the inside.

If you get your money back go and get an advance one piece, they are as good as CES IMO and they are in Adelaide.

yeah, i could be making something out of nothing, but that pic doesnt show how jagged it is in places, ill have it cleaned up and see how it goes, then ill look into the am and advance options.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
