20 in your 31 ftw!

hey steady eddy, you say hello to leanne for me?

if kylie stil works there, ask if she wants a repeat of what we did on the counter lol

Yeah, she and some of the other staff remember you...apparently you talked about your 33 a lot :D

Kylie left before I started there but she came back the other week so I'll ask her when we're on the same shift next.

probably Steve.

Ok, so i have bought a Power FC, no hand controller. Should i get a HC before i worry about installation and tune?

Just got my HID kit, which looks (to me) like the connection from my globes to my HID kit dont match. Anyone wanna fit it for me, or know of someone who will do it? Im thinking Auto Perfection.

Cheers guys.

is it the whole kit globes and igniters, becuase HID globes are different to halogen globes :D

Steve, won't they take it back?

they may i need to clean the gasket goo off it and make it look unused

hey guys, I've been away from my computer for about 4 hrs and just got back to see the mods have removed the thread about "Photos" from that dude with the bi-polar disorder.

Did he end up flaming me for saying that manic depressants shouldn't be off their medication?

I don't know if I should've been laughing or feeling sorry for the poor buggar.

yeah you werent to know Pete Chris is a nice guy little eccentric

so craig, in a nutshell, what what else was said after my post to that dude?

I was hoping to found out what his deal was beofre the thread was actually deleted.........he obviously came across as a hacker with a few personal issues!

yeah dont flame just based on one meeting

I see the "SA Photo" thread is gone too.

Chris is an ok bloke, but has had some issues in the past - guess you could say he is a rather misunderstood kind of guy. Its not my place to talk about his past, but just remember he is a nice bloke who's had some issues. I'm sure everyone on here has had their good/bad days, and today probably wasn't one of his better with regards to agreeing with forum rules.

limewire + broad-band FTW! 234 songs since sat night lol

how many kegobytes is that craig

My car has been mis-firing inconsistently for the last week

As in some days it will run beautiful for an hour then mis fire for a while then clear itself up and run fine again!

I ran a couple bottles of injector cleaner through it, didnt really seem to make much difference at all.

Any suggestions?

Really wanna fix this tomoro arvo if possible, really starting to shit me to tears, stalled it just before the intersection as it 'randomly' started to mis fire again today

yeah i too would say AFM maybe dry solders or cracked coilpacks

oh and my new dump pipes

post-13315-1219756431_thumb.jpg

i got my dump pipe from andrew too..awsome job but my dump pipe had a circle thing that sat in the exhaust housing instead of the eyebrow thing that seperates the wastegate

but yes awsome quality there

yeah Pete i asked if you rang we had a laugh together because he wasn't sure who you were talking about because i had only met him once

cant wait to see how they go with new tune on friday want to do a before power run and after power run with only changing the dumps

if you think you wash your car to much some would say not enough

>>See Here<<

EDIT

Vu you would get so sick of a screamer

Just got back from a 5 day trip to Melbourne.

Hired a VE SV6 Commodore with 23k on the clock.

At first I began thinking about 6ltr + turbo + 275 sticky tyres and its traction control working nicely.

THEN..........

Soon discovered it already has a whoopwhoop wheel bearing thats on its way.

A nasty arsed harmonic that occurs on some road surfaces that drives you absolutely insane at ~110km/h.

The centre dash grill looking thing is already peeling up.

A rattle in the drivers door

A rattle in the dash over reasonable bumps

Doors close like and thud like a cheaply made Korean car.

Feels as if the spring rate needs to be a tad tighter for the weight of the car and rebound tightened up as it has way too much body roll and seems to launch in to the air over wavey dips in the road at high speed. Definitely not 'sports' suspension like the older VS/VT's had.

Brakes feel soft and not confidence inspiring through the hills.

Its fairly sluggy overtaking from 90-100km/h and really hits a brick wall at 140-150km/h. Feels like it really starts to push the wind.

Fuel economy on the open road is 8.5L/100km's.

City is around 12.5l/100km's driving it really soft.

Looks as if build quality has not improved since my last Commodore (VS 5ltr 5speed) that I bought with low km's when it was only just 2years old.

Definitely wouldn't sink 40k in to one which is what the SV6 is worth. Quite disappointed as I really began to think about a nice big cubed v8 with a turbo hanging off it. :D

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
