Anyone Transfered Rego To Nsw From Vic?

Recommended Posts

I'm selling my R33 to a buyer in NSW in the next month or 2 and need to know the procedure to transfer rego. Has anyone done this before?

From what i can see so far all that has to be done is done in NSW. Just need to issue receipt then they get blue slip(rwc equiv) ,green slip and take it to RTA? Just wanna make sure i don't have to do anything in VIC before I go to NSW.

All you will have to do is de-reg the car here in Vic and provide the buyer with the de-reg papers. The person buying it in NSW will have to then get a RWC done in NSW and show all this paperwork to the RTA in order to get the car rego-d there.

So if the car was unregistered for AUS roads then how would he transport it?

When i bought my car from NSW the buyer gave me tranfer forms and drove it back to VIC with NSW, got myself a VIC RWC and went into VIC roads and then got it registered with VIC plates.

So if the car was unregistered for AUS roads then how would he transport it?

Simple....in a sealed truck :D

Obviously if you are going to drive it then you would have to obtain a temp permit.

i was actually planning on driving it up!

i found the rta site (http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/rego_new.html)

it says:

"Second-hand vehicles currently or previously registered interstate

To register a second-hand vehicle that is currently or was previously registered interstate, you will need to attend a motor registry in person and provide:

Your interstate number plates – you’ll have to surrender your interstate plates before you’ll be given NSW plates."

So if that is the case i assume that i don't have to do anything on the victoria side?? RTA handles refunding my rego and accepting the vic numberplates??
