Drove a R34 GTR VSpec and got a new clutch (thanks YLWGTR!!!)

Recommended Posts

"Retspec" 2 Troy (YLWGTR) for makin it all possible... what a champion... not only did he hook me up with an organic fibre clutch (same as what I had int here before) and installing it for me (for a very respectable price)... but he also let me drive his car :)

WHEEEEEEEEEEE I am sooo happy now. :D:D:D:D

Even tho I didn't give it hell coz I was like soo scared I'd break something, I felt like my hands and legs were part of the car... soo much response, so much power... Button clutch was a bit wierd to get used to, click, click in or out no halfway business... Its such a lovely car to drive even in normal non-"i'mma burn the roads up" driving mode. Never felt so in control of a car... I want one!!!!

Oh and my new clutch is in (afta having driven a car that's had a fading clutch ever since I got it)... feels nice too. I'm probably gonna give it a full service and a new set of sparks, drain all fluids and prep it up paint and dents wise, give it a bit of pampering, coz its her 1 yr birthday on the 3rd of July.

Yet again... thanks again to Troy... the guys jus a legend. (plus he really knows his shit inside and out... from importation to mechanics to carbon fibre moulding ;)).

I'mma post a piccie of my clutch now... note how its worn down to the plate...

Oh did I mention that I crunched his 3rd gear at first.. lol... my heart was in my mouth when I heard it go KRRRR.

Oh and I think its got a short shift kit in as well coz I think I moved the gear knob maybe 3cm between shifts... and they all click into place so effortlessly (or they don't if you don't get the button clutch right).

Really sweet car... god bless the panda eyes :)

he's jus down on hols atm fom japan, but he did it for me at one of his mate's workshops, he dusn't really do it for a living. I can give u his mate's workshop details if das wat u want they're a pretty good bunch.

hehe... i asked him... his policy is... "why should I pay for others to see my car" lol and with a car car like that he's right

    • Yeah I also looked at Plazmaman, but, it ended up alot  cheaper getting black ones through EFI when you also added in the delivery cost
    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
