Comments: Hi guys I have been able to get my hands on 6 of these turbos. 5 with .82 rear housings and 1 with the .63 housing. they are brand new genuine garrett turbos with 6 months warranty and I have been told at this price they are probably the cheapest in Australia. They will be coming from the states and once I have recieved payment for them it will only take about 3-7 working days to arrive. Im buying once myself so there will only be 5 left at this price so I thought well im getting mine I might be able to help out other SAU members aswell. GCG sell these turbos for $2075 thats a $480 saving.

I'd be interested in a .82 item, I assume it would come with all warranty papers but not being an australian sold turbo, would we have to send it back to the states for any warranty claim?

Hey mate yes u are rite the turbo would have to be sent back to the states for any warranty claims. Never herd of brand new genuine garretts failing though.....cheers

Keen to get mine going too, just waiting on funds within the next week and trying to find a suitable manifold.. external gate but not too high.. already have height issues with the RB30

Thats ok mate I can hang off for a week or so as I am in the same position trying to find all the bits and pieces I need.

i bought a gt35r for my single setup from horespowerinabox.com, all I can say is your price there is f**king great!!

yes there is about a $400-500 saving in this compared to if you brought from a retail shop....I thought there would be ppl jumping at this. cheers

If I can find a manifold for RB26, waste gate and some type of intake and dump then I'd be keen. Haven't been able to find the setup I want so might have to settle for this. Help finding manifold and other bits would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Daniel

Mate its just a matter of searching the net. I know there is a few manifolds and wastegates on ebay and this forum for sale, for the dump/front pipe you are definatly better off to get one fabricated to suit your car, silly to by one off someone else cause all cars are different, and who ever makes your dump im sure could fabricate some intake pipe aswell, thats exactly wot im doin, brought a 44mm tial gate off ebay and manifold and get the rest of the piping fabricated, cheers

google is your best friend..

I've found the manifold I want, from Advanced Torque Motorsports, tubular tuned length low mount stainless. Going to get a local guy to put a gate pipe on there for me :worship:

As for dump and intake piping, will be custom, likely by the same person who will modify my manifold.

    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
    • Well the articals keep saying a Q50s (Skyline in Japan) with a new Manual gearbox. I like the talk about the new looks with the round tail lights. I hope they bring back the retro look like they did with the Z
