Slight Panel Damage

Hey guys im not sure if this is the right section of the forum 2 post

But i have just dinted the side of my skyline OUCH :'(

I was jus curious 2 c how much it wuld cost 2 fix hoping u guys culd give me an estimate and point me in the direction of a good panel beater (western subs Melb) i havnt been 2 a panel shop b4 so ima bit of a noob. also will it be perfectly straight after or will it be noticible it has been straightened.

Although it's only a small dint, they'll have to remove the whole quater-panel, fill it up and then repaint it in 2-pak paint; it should cost you around $350 in my opinion.

There are many good panel beaters in the western suburbs; go for a drive down Myintyre road in the sunshine/braybrook area and you will see many.

Doesnt look like there is any scratches along with that dent, if that is the case

then call a few mobile paintless dent removers - they will be able to get that back to looking perfect, without the need to spray the whole quarter and door etc to blen d it in, prob be cheaper too

try the yellow pages for these guys, as i cant suggest anyone in Melb

I'm no panel beater by a long shot; but a mate is and basically they'll have to cut and remove the quarter-panel from the wheel-arch leading to the side window section and then take it from the back as well...

if i was told that i needed a new quarter panel to fix that dent, i would go home and fix it myself - thats ridiculous

not only is that location accessable from inside the car, but if a panel beater cant beat that panel back to normal, he aint much of a body shop man.

seriously, if worst came to worst you would use a weld on dent puller to bring that back out , then respray.

there is the classic "but i know someone who does" line right there.

that makes you unqualified, tell your 'mate' to go back to panel school.

you won't need to cut out the quarter panel, any decent panel beater will have the tools required to tap the dent back out from inside the car. it's like a mini hammer which they use to slowly punch it back out alternatively you could pull it out with a weld on or magnetic puller.

this is first hand experience i encountered whilst getting a dent in the same spot out of my car.
