hey guys as you know i had a crap slide hiflow that chat itself under light load.

And as i was expecting.... not under warranty!!

just thought id let ya guys know incase somthing happens to your slide hiflow .

"something went through the turbo"

man that makes me laugh :laughing-smiley-014:

oh well onto bigger and much better things :P

cheers

nothing wrong with bush bearing Tony.. its just that the person/company that did yours might of done not the best of jobs?

but as you said move on to bigger and better things

best of luck

yea exactly

And thanks

nuthin went through it. i can assure you. how can something go through when everything was tight, in tact, and perfectly meshed afm .

I shouldnt have sent it to THEIR workshop for warranty. A new company took over called murnane. As if their going to warranty sheldons shit hiflows... well... "aarons"

Be careful guys... be very careful if yours goes pop on you

not trying to bag Aaron but i had a very hard time getting my turbo from him and after i asked for a refund that took 2 months, if your going a new turbo i would suggest Kyle from 6Boost top block and very quick delivery, cheaper and supports customers.

A bit of topic but my 2 cents

So how did they determine that something definately went through the turbo?

Can they conclusively document and prove that that was the cause of the turbo failure?

I wouldn't be letting ~$900 get away from me without concrete proof of the reason given

Oh and taken from security's thread, if you hadn't sent it back to their workshop and sent it somewhere else then it would have voided the warranty anyway....according to them

Seek a lawyer for yourself and go through small claims. You'll be presently suprised that it won't be that expensive. It will work out less than what you paid for your turbo.

Let a court decide based on THE LAW, instead of letting him decide on whatever arbitrary reason he BELIEVES is the law.

I think that its too easy to just say, oh, something went through the turbo. But in reality, r33god was using an air filter. there's nothing that went through it.

Essentially, by not upholding his warranty, slide is just opening himself up to legal action (the ACCC may back you up with costs as well so it may not cost you anything), not to mention ruining the name of his business.

Geez, sounds like a pretty shit situation...

Good luck if it does end up in small claims mate.

Doesnt sound like youll need it though with the obvious evidence (in tact air filter and AFM mesh) on your side

mate i feel for your situation, but i think starting a thread like this is going to do nothing to help you

aaron has every right to deal with customer complaints through PM, hell if it were me i wouldn't want my name being dragged through the mud

every company has their issues, but airing it on a public forum is not the right thing to do, on top of the fact that it's against forum rules.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
