two small question

how strong is the r32 gtr gearbox, what power can it hold, can it hold repeated launch??

at the drag strip what rpm do you guys launch at with a prety stock r32gtr and a good clutch??

gtr box is just as strong as a rb25det box. any box will give in if its used for constant launches...

I don't think i've ever seen a gtr box break from launching at 8000rpm ever, however ive seen plenty of clutches fry and even a few flywheels break.

they are breakable... trust me haha however good maintence helps it last, good oils ect.

clutch would more likly give in before the box however...

Haven't seen one break launching but I know of someone who has snapped 3rd gear.. the car is pushing over 600awhp though heh.

You shouldn't have problems under 300rwkw, at 330rwkw plus you'll eventually strip 3rd gear. Just the weight, torque loading and metalergy of 3rd.

I broke 3rd running in the low 11's, 3rd or 4th pass. I eventually ran mid 10's with a ppg dog gear set.
