Hey guys,

Ok I just wrote a Essay and the stupid I.E shut down so here I go again;

Ive got a R34 GTT with the following:

Trust HG FMIC

SBC I.D 3 - Running 10psi - gain 7-8

Safc Neo

Full exhaust, split dump, high flow catco, 3.5inch catback and 4" cannon.

CAI with apexi Pod

Greddy Coilovers type S and sways

Now the thing is really built for tight cornering, hard acceleration and Red light launching. My tune all changed that, its spring was cut down after its tune, more top end less accleration ;) pitty really cause thats what I like.

Now I figure ive got a few options,

Get the Safc re-tuned as it has been tuned in easy mode and the $200 I spent on it being tuned was not worth it, Use pro mode and its 500rpm intervals to give it abit more edge down low? I feel the safc changes are effecting the timing and without a sitc to change ignition im not going to achive the accleration I want.

Hook up a nice EMU like the Greddy Emanage and milk out the right tune with optional ignition and injector lead all for the same price as a new safc neo. Which may I add I might have for sale soon. depending on what people advise.

Buy a powerfc and go all out, main reason this appeals to me is the knock is shown onscreen and I know im not blowing up my engine. The shit side is that its so expensive and I also dont have a need or want at this period in time to bolt on a bullshit turbo setup.

Now to those who had the emu hooked up, how much did it set you back for install and tune? and also to a power fc guys how much am I looking at for a tune?

And what do people think I should do to get that, V-TEC YO! feel?

Thanks in advance

Nathaniel, I'm not sure what your question was so :domokun:

Your future choice of management depends on what your doing with the car in the future (surprise surprise)

If the cars almost how you like it, power wise, then use a cheaper, limited option; piggy back, eManage and try and get some of that "spring back" you talk of.

If u know you want to really fly, then clearly get PFC, Haltech, Autronic plug in.

Generally, tidy up tune is $200 - $400, and a full tune $500 - $1000.

Call local tuners for solid pricing.

PMSL.

When I went from standard management up to the power fc it made a huge difference to the feel of the engine, way more responsive and faster at a lower boost pressure.

I would recommend getting one of these as they are great bits of kit. Then get a HKS turbo for even more grin factor!

    • I have done a lot of research before posting here and on gtruk forum. couldn't find anything. I have my gauges all part except the needle itself. the needle has a extremely small hole in the center, but the shaft going to the needle is extremely small and appears to have nothing to index it either. doesn't seem strong enough to simple pry or pull without damaging something. Already tried the old spoon trick on a extra triple meter I have from a gtt, but no luck. the center cap comes off easily but the hole in the meter face plate aren't big enough to get over the needle itself. figured this would be my best place to find someone who might have actually removed theirs. wonder if there is some type of small pin press tool to push the pin in while pulling the needle base off.
    • Ok...its taking me long enough to finally do this.  Feck financial security...heart disease will get me soon enough anyway So welcome to the garage..."Clem" Belsil80 has been running a 370Z in Super TT series. So after entering with him in last years Winton 300 i figured I  need my own car. Seems SAU Vic race cars need to be yellow....{tick} Reckon with enough motor i will be able to make up for the lack of talent and stay ahead of the 370Z... but the LS powered S13 and E36s are a ways up the road Aim is to have a car that doesnt stop or turn but has a bit of shed built motor with jam...maybe some cream  First step is getting this ex drift car log booked I am keeping faithful silver car. As the road-club car gets upgrades the race car wil get the sloppy seconds
    • Assuming that they will come off without damage at all.... i would have thought just pull straight up off the spindle with a something or other than can reach underneath. Have you searched for youtube vids of people doing similar on R34s or any other Nissan from the same vintage? They should be the same technique, in all likelihhood.
    • Keeping in mind that sandblasting is really aggressive on softer metals like cast alloy, and you can do damage that you might regret. For trash wheels, not a problem. For wheels with value/scarcity issues, etc.... perhaps a less aggressive media is a better choice?
    • Don't get all high and mighty. Experienced spanner wielders know exactly what effort is required to release an Oof.
