My pineapples cost around $180 fitted and it was the best damn $180 i spent on my car (except the $66 DOT5.1 brake fluid which is a must for all Skyline owners).

Ben, what temperature does your dot 5 boil at? There's an expensive dot 4 from Caltex that boils at over 300 degrees. I forget the exact name (it's in my garage atm but it's too cold to go out and look), but it's around half the price of yours. Race Brakes use and recommend it

Yup thats exactly how they work, good stuff eh !

I believe its 320-330c. I didn't really have time to pick and choose, thats what my brakes specialist had and i didnt have a brake pedal to get me around town to 'browse' so i used it. I was actually expecting like $120ish for good quality stuff so it worked out ok in the end.

N/A®, I never heard any knocks on mine, instead the back end used to shift left to right over every bump (did the crab walk). Either your subframe bushes are really worn or you've got other suspension issues to work out or it may be as simple as an exhaust mount thats worked loose. Have it checked it out.

  • 3 weeks later...

bought the whiteline kit with 4 pineapples but used only 2 in the standard position, what do you do with it? Is it better to use it in the all-round position as the postions described are drift, drag, standard and all-round.

btw with the new nolathan bushes in the front castor rod and the pineapples, car feel more solid, more direct but more bumpy.

Front upper bushes let you dial in camber +/- 0.75 degrees. You also get a little more feedback through the steering wheel and all the other benefits of polyurethane.

Rear upper bushes can be used for camber adjustment too.

    • Hahaha cause I like it. I like how it looks, how it drives, I like the interior. I just dig it. I'm not being rational, I'm being irrational because I want to be. I'm not aware of anything else out there, within my budget, that ticks the (irrational) boxes that this ticks.  This is my baby. I love it unconditionally.
    • Look. I don't mean to be 'that guy'. But this quoted text, and the previous fixes make me wonder. WHY ARE YOU USING THIS PLATFORM? There are so many better options. Please tell us why anyone would persist with this platform given your use case for this car.
    • Damn stupid non BMW windscreen killed my auto wipers. The sensor is terrible. But, I digress. The Blackline looks great! I'm not sure if I can get one from a supplier in Australia but in the UK they are about $1100 AUD sans shipping. This is a much easier financial hurdle for me than 2, 3 or 4k for any of the other options. Looks like a fairly easy DIY to fit too if you dont need to worry about the backlash. I need a new valve cover gasket first, my car is just smoking like crazy with an oil leak over my exhaust.
    • Didn’t think I’d ever see CarPlay in an old as hell R32!   added a few spacers to the mounting bracket to make the unit sit flush with the shroud and gap free for a factory look. usability is good. Originally thought I’d need to move the aircon controls down and make a custom bracket, but it seems the head unit is still usable and I can reach it fine in its normal position. On ya Nissan engineers for thinking about ergonomics of a touch screen 30 years ago!
