RB25 Turbo, great upgrade!

Just upgraded to a RB25 turbo, definatley the day's work. A few things tho. Its off a series 2 r33 which means it has a plastic compressor wheel. Is this better or worse than the older steel wheel?

I also have a bit of a pinging problem even at 13psi. I have a good fmic so it shouldnt be a problem, and have a standard computer. I ran the car with a fuel pressure guage and the pressure doesnt drop at all when it pings. Could it be something like a dirty injector or what? I woul dhave thought if the fuel pump couldnt handle that much power, it would drop pressure? Any suggestions? Ive cleand the AFM, changed plugs with the correct gaps etc.

put your timing backa bit and also get your fuel pump checked a bit of pinging you can hear is not good

the series 2 turbo doesnt like boost as much as the series 1 version so keep it around 12 psi to be safe

If it was the fuel pump, wouldnt the fuel pressure be dropping? I had it the guage reading just before it went into the reg.

the pressure should be rising as boost rises....for

stock regulator,

eg at 12psi boost your fuel pressure should be around

55psi

my stock pump wasnt keeping up....

at 0psi (around 43psi)

at 5psi (around 48psi)

at 10psi (around 53psi)

its a 1 to 1 relationship with the stock regulator

IM thinking fuel pump. Mine didnt show up as losing pressure but it was ****ed.

Get a 040 in there.

how much did the turbo set u back if you dont mind?

do the s2 turbos spool up any quiccker than a s1?
