Hey Guys,

On christmas eve i was pulling out of the ridiculously dangerous driveway at my complex (which you cant see over the crest of the hill and has cars hammering down the street) and as i edged out, had somebody come flying over the hill and crash into the front of my car. Apart from being completely pissed off at the inevitable situation happened and having my number plate crushed, reo damaged, and front bar dented, i now have to fix the other vehicle.

The car is a hyundai accent 2000 model i think and she hit me with the front left corner of her car. The damage sustained was a smashed front left headlight and damaged front left corner of the front bar.

I am basically asking around if anybody knows of a smash repairer around brisbane (preferrably West side) that does cheap work to a reasonable standard to get this hyundai fixed. I say reasonable standard, as the car was already sporting different coloured paint from previous accidents and even had some scrape marks on the corner that she hit me with.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as there has already been a quote from Toowong Smash, and it came to a wallet hurting $1,600!!! I am going to talk to the chicks dad regarding sourcing parts such as the headlight privately to potentially reduce the fixing cost, as he was very reasonable and sympothetic to the fact my excess would be $2,100 if it goes through insurance.

Thanks in advance guys.

the spray shop in salisbury near the tafe..

i was rear ended and got a quote to sand down repair and respray the rear bar.. only cost $450 to the other persons insurance.

sorry i dont have a number tho. sorry

Thanks for the replies so far guys, but just to elaborate on the above: I am going to take care of the repairing of my vehicle, it is a cheap smash repairer that I need for the other car, the Hyundai Accent 2000 model.

As people have suggested, I am going to price up buying the parts needed to fix the car, but I don’t know if the other party will let me fix it, hence the cheap smash repairer. I don’t believe the front bar of the Hyundai will need repainting, and even if it did, I am not paying for it, as there were scratches and paint from other cars all over it before she hit me. The actual paint transfer from the accident is minimal anyway.

So yeah, if anybody knows of a cheap smash repairer to get the Hyundai fixed at, that would be great.

    • Started sifting thru my brakes to decide which ones I will run on Clem   Made me think I should just put them all on Silver...for when brake fade just isn't an option   Should be able to bump rotor up from 343x32 to 348x36 off Supra. Not sure if the Supra annulus is right for the Alcons or APs but trying g to find a used Supra\M4 rotor to test fit The Alcons seem to gain 1-2mm clearance which all helps

    • Probably speedometer itself if the odometer is ticking. If the needle is stuck from a bit of grease or something that can cause it to stay at 0. Or a cracked solder joint in the speedometer can do it too.
    • Thanks Fella’s   to take this off topic and to elaborate a bit more. I have an rb25/30 going into a r32 GTST.. expected to make around 600-700hp. Would you?   A) R34 GTT box   B) CD00#?  I’ve seen a few posts about the CD swap and sounds fairly involved with making it fit etc but if it’s worth the work then I’ll go that way
    • Lower at the hubs. Funny I forgot to mention that part. Do this pull here I turned the camera off too soon but the graph shows a drop at the top and that was because the pipe from the turbo blew off. The tuner said we could’ve made possibly another 15 whp. He also added if I switched to ethanol we could up the boost some more as well. I was comfortable capping it at the most of 20 pounds. Turns out the turbo pipe just needed a new worm clamp. Got home replaced that then did a third gear pull from 3k to 7200 rpm and the power was great to the top. I just got an ecu mounting bracket from IEE that I need to try and get everything to fit well. It’s a PITA to get the harness and ecu fit properly behind that kick plate
