Whats This White Thing On Vac Hose That Goes To Bov?

just wondering what that white round thing (like a 20c peice with nipple on each side) is that is mid-way on the vacuum line to the BOV? some form of restrictor? can it be removed and replaced with a new single line??

also a totally different topic but would a dying standard rb25 turbo have symptoms of dropping off boost (0.9bar to 0.6)

Hey dood, Id suggest its a boost / vacuum line filter. They're used in HKS EBC and electronic gauge setups, amongst others.

I don't think a dying turbo would drop boost, if by dieing you mean failing bearings /core; the motor has well enough flow to negate any increased friction.

i replaced my air filter, done the mod where you put a pipe in the air filter pipe

checked I/C hose clamps and vacuum hose with no evident leaks

i have to check the cat

how would i notice if its dodgy or failed? would it like be broken inside or not so evident???

It would be pretty clear; you wouldn't be able to see through it! As the gate controls pressure, i would start there. Are you running a bleeder? EBC?

My boost gauge on my gts25t never goes above 0.5bar since i got it. Guess i can remove the thought that the turbo is not working.
