I run my PS3 via a wired connection as well but I never let it automatically assign the IP and stuff. I would recommand in your network settings on the PS3 assign it an IP address and enter the information manually. Although I run Bigpond internet here so my connection was alot more of a pain in the arse to setup because I had to change the IP address of my router so it wouldn't conflict with the IP address that the bigpond router was trying to assign. Also put your PS3 in the DMZ zone of your router so you don't have port issues with playing games as well.

On your PC if you goto "Start" then "Run" type in "cmd" and that should bring up your command prompt.

In the command prompt type in "ipconfig /all" and that will bring up settings for the PC which should have all the info you need for the PS3.

On the PS3 assign it an IP that isn't being used by your PC or any other PC in the house.

To get the subnet mask etc etc it should be listed when you typed in "ipconfig /all" on your PC so just copy that data onto your PS3 and see how it goes.

If you have any trouble let me know. By assigning the PS3 its own IP address that way you can enter that IP address in your router in the DMZ and not worry about the router assign the PS3 a different IP.

damn that sounds hardcore, all i know is turn on computer and press buttons preety much LOL.

but yea i understood what you explaned so ill give it a shot tonight

my friend used a wired connection at his place and it worked stright away EVEN BEFORE TRIED IT AT MY PLACE could this be a problem?

yea i am wired to optus

thanks alot mate ( that must of takin ages to type up lol)

Actually just double checking is it being connected via a router or straight from the optus modem?

There is 3 ways that come to mind to get an internet signal via an ethernet cable to the PS3 let me know which one you have.

1. Cable modem (in your case optus modem) plugged directly into the ps3 via ethernet cable (No network access just internet)

2. Cable modem being plugged into your PC (via usb or ethernet) then lined out via ethernet to the PS3 or a switch (PC needs to be on for internet)

3.Cable modem lined into a router via ethernet cable then cables from the router goto the PC and PS3 (Internet and Network Access. Prefered Method)

Make Sure your not using a Cross-over cat 5/6 cable. when your sure u have right cable. turn off your cable modem (unplug it), and leave network cable unplugged ( but leave ps3 end pluged in). turn modem power on (plug it in), wait till power light on modem comes on, then wait till recieve light comes on, then plug network cable in. then go to your internet connection setup, chose wired connection-yada yada. select Automatic setting for everything. Once it has configured its settings, it should work. i know quite a few ppl with optus cablenet with PS3's and none have had a problem. If this doesnt work than ill bet your PS3 network hardware is Cactus. Take it back and get another one.

P.S dont even bother with Wireless as it is Insanly slow compared to Wired.. my PS3 downloads way faster than my PC. 1.2MB/s WOOT.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
