Item: tThis is a genuine Kokoda Trail bayanet, My father bought it some time ago and left it when my parents split up. I have no use for it as id imagine it's a collectors thing. Got offerd $1000.00 for it couple years ago but didnt want to sell it, don't know why i didnt. Kind of creepy thinking how many people it's killed. Anyway, it comes with a hard leather case, has all the original markings and serial numbes if sombody knows anything about these i wouldnt mind finding more out about them before i part with it. cheers.

Is this Australian or Jap? Where did your father get this from?

Kokoda Trail, It's Australian. It has Original Markings and stamps. Every symble means somthing. i only just de-coded it from a website the other day. My father Bought it at an auction from sombody who passed away years ago.

MA 1907....Australian manufacture mark with pattern acknowledgement, as seen on Pattern 1907 and Owen bayonets

MA - - - Manufactured at Lithgow

1907 - - - Is the model number

Slaz - - - Slazenger (wood only)

X - - - Bend test mark, proof

A & O - - - Early Lithgow proof mark

42 - - - More then likely the year of make..

If i was you i would look to sell it else where, not only would you get a better price but there is also a good chance that it would go to a collector or someone who would appreciate it more.

Maybe even try the war memorial.

As a soldier in the Army I would be honoured to have this item. It would take a meaningfull place in my collection of Historic Army memrobelia. Not that I have much but it would still be great. Here's a list of parts I have you may want:

-R34 GTT Rims (look nice to)

-Stock R33 Coil Packs

-Stock Rotors

- Blitz BOV

- Standard R33 Steering wheel

- Amps & speakers

The only problem I guess would be shipping. Where are you in QLD?

    • If your head gasket lifted, you should have seen a coolant pressure spike. There's no need for a copper gasket/fire rings at 30psi. An MLS with perfectly clean/flat mating surfaces should suffice.
    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
