i think the C5 weighs in at 1497kg from HPI no.32, which coincidentally is in my hands.... isn't a R33 GTS-T around 1300kg? or is that a R32 GTS-T i'm thinking about....... well an R33 GT-R is 1560kg..... so, not much in it..... up the boost a bit, and they'll both be head to head..... C5 vs R33 GT-R that is..... a holden GTS, weighs in more than 1700kg(?? correct me if i'm wrong, most V8's are more than 1600kg right?)

btw, how much are most of those kits for the LS1 cost?

wow, warranty with the 550hp kit, hehehe, if only that could happen with installed hardware on a jap car

I killed an old guy (50's?) in a yellow GTS once but there was a bit of traffic so couldn't go for long.. I think he was trying to say "i'll show these punk kids with their jap crap".. I was in front in a few metres. He wasn't happy.

Hopefully i made him revert in his midlife crisis ;)

Pred - hehehe, I love your work... ;)

I remember one bloke in an old beaten up EH go past me (turning right at the lights) while I was stopped and yelled out "jap crap" out his window. Then his car backfired, almost stalled, and just made it across the lights before they turned red.

I was like WTF???? LOL

Anyway, that's waaayyyyyy off topic...

and yes im pretty sure 1 of this kit would give a Jap Mod GTR a run 4 its money (who would win would be done to spec and dirver)

The Lingenfelter Corvette that does 9's on drag radials is the 427cu (~7litres) twin-turbo, the small block ones do 10's or worse.

And FYI, the Veilside R32 does an 8.6 1/4 on Nitto's, not to mention plenty in that class that are only a few tenths behind. And there are shitloads of private street-legal GTR's in Japan that do 9's.

Lingenfelter 427 Corvette

The Lingenfelter 427 Twin Turbo Corvette runs 8.95 @ 153 MPH! street Corvette in the 8's

it is just under a meg

Ahaha and 4 the comment of small block ones, z06 ls6 do anywhere from 9 to 10second on streets

im not tring to start a flame war but it really does shit me that SOME skyline people think that they r the best car for watever reason. i know skyline r badass car which can run some wicked 8/9sec 1/4mile but it isnt the only car

Too true. I was a very one-eyed Skyline nut when I owned an R32. After a while, the novelty wore off. I saw the light and traded it for a WRX (Just kidding:D ). I came to appreciate all cars for what they are.

I still like the skylines, but now realise that they certainly aren't the be-all and end-all of motoring. whether it has a rotor, V8, I6, I4, Boxer or whatever, I really don't care too much. as long as it's quick, and fun to drive.

It's fun giving stick to a V8 on a race track, (proper one with corners and all), just as it's fun giving stick to turbo Skylines. By the same token, when a 450hp at the wheels GTR beats my times (in the dry at least), I can appreciate the performance of these things. I'd like to line up a standard GTR tho - I think it'd be a close race.

I digress. As Soulja said, nothing makes a forum more boring than the brand slagging that some members engage in.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
