what did u pay for the new wing?

bought off a forum member for $350

if you dont mind me asking, how much did it cost you to repair the guards?

Not repaired yet, cheapest quote I've gotten so far from a panel-beater is for $1400. That's to weld up some metal plates to the inside of the boot, then puttying up the holes properly and blending the paintwork from the roof so no-one can tell there was ever that abomination of a wing.

I can probably get a simple bog and spray job done for $600, but in the long run it always ends up looking shit down the track and have to be re-done anyway

Just want a proper job done first time, between work and TAFE just no free time to get it done :ninja: !

wow mate that is super rip job! you can get holes welded up for $150-$200 on the gold coast. cost you about $200 to respray.

like I said I can get a rush job done and have it look like sh*t down the track,

That quote is from a professional nrma endorsed panel beater, they fixed my sisters car when she got in a prang and it came out looking better than before.

The job would involve removing trims, panels and rubber seals so there is no overspray

That $150-$200 would be for welding all 14 holes? If so I'm driving to queensland :( !

Well now i am grateful that when i put it on ages ago, it was done with silicon :P

That would've been HEAPS betta :D !

I like how Nissan thought...

Yeah just drill into the damn thing, it's gonna be covered up anyway with a massive ginormous wing,

oh and make sure you drill 7 holes into each side...

This sucker's gonna be heavy! :)

Alrite, I was able to talk the panelbeaters into a discount.

Should be complete very soon... weird feeling now that I've mostly done everything I wanted to.

Should only be a matter of time before my attention turns to the Z *here we go again*:teehee:

Hey mate i think the person who designed that original wing must have the sexiest car in the universe.

I trust you burnt all the remaining evidence of that wing..

I like the wingless look.. mainly cos of ur sweet ass rear bar. But with ur new wing it just says "dont f*#k with me im quick." I love it. now go clean it and have sex in it..

What type of rear bar is that exaclty?

Also do you kno if that new wing can replace the original wings that most of us have without stuffing around with covering up holes?

When i replaced my Nismo wing (trolley). The bolts on the OEM R34 GTR ones lined up perfectly.

and i sold my Nismo one for $200 XD! why somone bought it.... i dont know..

Looking at the one you've put on, it doesn't have the adjustable side pieces. They have aftermarket ones exactly like the OEM ones but just aren't lol.

Thanks man,

It's a genuine nismo rear bar, but you can probably buy a fibreglass copy looks absolutely mean when combined with the aero or "altia" bodykit.

The rear wing if you look closely covers up the old bolt holes, but uses the original holes to bolt on, no muss no fuss.

    • would a r34 gtr hood line up with gt/gtt stock fenders? after latch, front bumper and hinges are swapped for gtr ones? or would the fenders be too low or high in relation to the hood surface? ( I believe seeing somewhere that gtr front fenders use some type of riser for the sides, but do not know how that relates to stock gt/gtt fenders.)
    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
