Pretty smart, take it across sydney so you maximise the amount of attention .. jezuz..

they ran an eway instead of paying 3.50.. you can never know.. they could have taken the car over there to get it reported over there at liverpool but really its somewhere else, just to make me think im looking in the right area.. these people are smart they know what they are doing.. just gotta think like them :P

i dont know about the other cars.. but know many stolen cars that didnt have plans for an alarm or insurance.. they just thought they lived in a safe area.. my case was different.. i actually had an autoelectican booked to come over to my garage to install my alarm on monday afternoon right after it got stolen..

and kevin isnt bullshiting about his r34 stolen.. stop giving him shit that he had no alarm or insurance.. many cars get stolen with club locks and alarms.. dont think you are any better than the rest of us.. do you think everyone in sydney look at this forums to know miranda isnt the place to park? things like this happen and they happen for a reason.. so come back down to earth if you think u are better cos you have an alarm.

To all these fools who think an alarm is the answer, wake up.

One of my friends who is an auto-electrician broke into my car cleanly and then started it regardless of the alarm and immobliser while I was standing there, took him about 40 seconds and no alarm was triggered.

Get yourselves a GPS track and good insurance because at the end of the day, if a professional car thief wants your car, they will get it. So stop giving people a hard time for not having an alarm when they've just gone and lost their pride and joy, I doubt very much if they posted it on here in order to get flamed by you keyboard warriors. Put yourself in their shoes and don't pay them out FFS

spotted a similar car on Victoria road west bound then right turn at Spurway street, Ermington at around 7:30 tonite

caught my attention because it looks good and was going quite fast

can you see the rim

or is the windows broken or open on the driver side

and where is that place?

mate I saw the car before seeing this thread

as I said it caught my attention because it was going so fast and it was a nice clean looking black 34

I would approach the management first. They would have to know this shit is happening in their carpark, some duty of care needs to be taken on their behalf.

and if you need to park you car there or any car park get an alarm or kill switch so these f**kers can not take it.

the only place my car is parked is in my garage,i dont even park it in the driveway.Call me paranoid, but atleast i still have my car.

Another thing, these cars are obviously sought after, might be an idea to buy a run around car for a daily driver as i have done, and i know many other members who have done the same.

Mate sorry to say this but Westfields couldnt give a Rats ass....I used to work as Security for Westfields at other locations than Miranda for just on 5 yrs. They know it happens, Public never really find out just how many vehicle ( And Violence may I also add ) thefts and Vandalism occur in their centres. After I finally resigned from them I had my own car broken into and stereo,Boost controller + turbo timer stolen. Now I tried this path and even had a Solicitor follow this up..As I had my car parked right opposite the lift entrance...so close to the lift doors you could even touch the car..Nothing..!! No video evidence at all...So I passed on this information to my Solicitor..My case was looking good too..All of the entrances to the Carparks had warnings that Westfields denies all responsibilty for damages incurred etc etc..As I was working in one of the dept stores at the time I had to park in the staff parking area.Which sucked...Easiest place to steal a car as well...What was in my favour however was the fact that of all these disclaimer signs they have, the one speed ramp as they call it that gets to the staff carpark the quickest didnt have any of these signs..And I had Photo evidence.I walked up the Ramp with my camera in hand taking Photos of the no signs...This was my big chance to get them. When I passed this on to my Solicitor however..Westfield used the Pissweak excuse that I used to be Security for them for years and I sould have known of the Disclaimer signs...So long story short..I lost that one, And I couldnt afford to fight them any more..They used some of the Best Solicitors ..Cost is No object...So Today My whole Family Boycotts Westfields...I wish other people would also..Get rid of the Monopoly of the retail industry.

ie. 90% of thieves!

Jon I think you missed what I was trying to say. I wasn't saying that you shouldn't have an alarm and immobilisor but it's pretty obvious that these thieves are not joyriders, therefore constantly telling people they should've had an alarm and giving them a hard time in a thread about their car being stolen is not really productive. And no that is not aimed at any one person in particular, just seems to be all people post in these threads and it's not right.

GTR-32U - Do you know why westfield cant invest in better security? lol.. as in cameras on all entry and exists etc etc.. Boom gates etc etc..

But im glad you tried to fight them!! You had good courage!!

Hehe yeah I know what you meant

Actually judging by that S14 that was stolen from Miranda, the guys just needed a ride to star city (where the car was found!). That sounds more like joyriders than professional thieves to me!

It's not about giving people a hard time about not having alarm/insurance - Its a method of making a point to other people reading these threads. Its giving a clear message to those who havent got security and are lucky enough not to have had their car stolen yet. You need security, or you will more than likely end up the author of one of these threads!

They are only interested in covering their asses. Not preventing theft. They always have most of their cameras in the food courts. Why you ask ? They are looking for video evidence to avoid paying a claim on slips and falls injuries.Generally they try and pin it on one of the food shops in the centre. They will try anything.Next time you go to a Westfield just look around the ceilings for the obvious cameras and they also use those dark ball shaped ones..These are remote control. And damn they are good too. I wont name the centre however one of the ones I worked in I was able to use one of the remote cameras on the rooftop carpark. This thing on full zoom was able to shoot right across the whole carpark and I was able to read the number plate of a car 2 blocks away from the centre. They tend to also focus their cameras on escalators and travelators as well as these are the places where people take a dive and go for compo.I used to fill in their incident report forms..i know what they try.i have even had to take a picture of a womans slightly worn stiletto so that they can use it as evidence against her. Had to put it on the report for their solicitors to be a " Contributing factor " for the incident....

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
