Sorry about last night guys...

And a big thanks to all who hung around with me...

Gunna rip into it today and find the cause... lol

Taark

not a problem dude...

couldn't leave you up on the mountain on your own... could of been kidnapped by the abo's and had your fuel stolen :domokun:

Thanks all to those that came... was a awesome turn out, a total of 14 cars parking it at pac fair and standing around until 8.40 when we left and in total, we had 9 cars follow us up through the goldcoast hinterlands going through springbroke. 4 additional skylines drove through the car park probably looking for us so we would of probably had 18-20 skylines last night with us.

I'll be organising another one pretty soon for us and it'll be different each time to what we do :)

doesnt need to be different, that was awesome. Taark - no worries mate, was good fun hanging around chatting :domokun: If anybody from last night wants to add me to msn, its -> "gervase AT allegro DOT com DOT au" (replace the capitalized words with the normal symbols).

Whats This About Crashing and breaking down???

I woulda Followed You guys up but the car kept droping cylinders so I cruised home.

I think a couple of cars followed me the wrong way....Sorry guys I was on auto pilot and went the way I normally go after losing the group at a roundabout.

Just drove past and stopped at the Quix for a while.

Pretty devoed i didnt follow now

Spoke to a few ppl i was the 12yr old looking fella driving the grey 33

Everyone was really friendly and it was great to meet a few ppl.

Definetly coming along for the next one!

Hey guys, (crashing yr thread sorry!)

just a quick heads up - SAUQLD are pulling on a 'New Member BBQ and Cruise' Saturday 29th March - EVERYONE is welcome!!

It would be great to see a contingent come up from the Coast. For more details, please click here

again, all are welcome! but please post in the thread if you are planning to attend.

Cheers Chris

THANKS WAS FUN UNTIL TARKS 180 STUFFED UP BUT I GUESS WE HAD NEAR 3 HOURS OF BONDING TIME HAHAHAHA AND EM IS IT FAAAARK YOU WERE SO CLOSE TO LOSING YA CAR I WAS RIGHT BEHIND YOU THAT SHIT WAS SCARY! LET ME KNOW WHEN NEXT COAST CRUISE IS ON! LEE...

Thanks guys had a great time, glad I made it out, and even more-so that I made it back out after dropping the lady off.

Put a butterfly valve in my exhaust the other night after hearing the difference they made in the one I heard, I think it was Taaarks car before the dramas.

Well done to everyone, and specially the last 6 cars of us that finished up around 1-2am

Hi everyone

Thx for a great night. Thx for all for turning up. Look forward to the next one.

I was one of those guys with Garrysandy who followed Zebra, thought he turned the wrong way at the roundabout at Mudgee by the time we turned around and headed the right way all u guys and gals had gone so yeah looking forward to the next one.

Cheers. :(

em didn't spin out.. she was just showing us a 180 degree handbrake maneuver.. show off imo :D

^^^ ha ha ha^^^ if only it were true :nyaanyaa:

Thanks heaps for an awesome random night. Was awesome to get to no peoples....

Look forward to next one.... Hopefully with no crazy "handbrake maneuver's"..ha ha..

Yeah but was awesome.

Hey guys. Good to meet a few of you. Shame i had to go to work and that the car was playing up. Pulled a whole heap of stuff apart yesterday and found nothing broken or needing replacement. Took her for a run up the road with a mate in the car and it was back to normal again :) Looks like i have gremlins lurking under my hood somewhere.

Lookin forward to the next one and hopefully i can get the night off.

    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
