yeah second hand gt3540's are worth anywhere from $900 to $1200, i picked up a brand new one for $1450 2 weeks ago.

drop the price to 1200 and you should be able to get close to that price

this turbos hasnt even been pushed into its efficiency range yet. So its barely even been used. I payed 1800. Polished it. Put the metal elbow and did roughly 1500kz. So its still basically new. But i am negotiable. Be realistic im not gona go too low.

And u cant get them brand new from a shop for 1600. Min is around 1750

approx 18psi. i dont want to push this any further because i have a single plate clutch and obviously the std bottem end, if it was a built engine with a twin plate, i would go up to around 26psi. For street this is more than enough to scare you.

To do the same setup i have done with this turbo is not a costly exercise.. Turbo cost me around 1800 then delivery, manifold was 250 then hadto modify it to be perfect, gate was 570.. You could use cheaper parts, but i dont want to stuff around fixing things twice, so i went braided everything and made another wastegate outlet with a screamer, full 3" exhaust, 4" intake pipe, Put the elbow on because if i was to put a silicone bend it would melt.

So realisticly the figures to set up everything would be roughly 3,700 or so doing it right.

    • I would be surprised if that wasn't the issue. It's probably telling you, that even if you remove the plastic liner, you may have some other clearance issues that may occur too in some scenarios. IE, tyre to guard. It looks like someone has already rolled the lip, but you may still have issues in the future IE, turning and hitting a bump etc. The fact it changes how bad it makes the noise when you are going backward vs forward is highly indicative that it's the tyre rubbing. They do make a terrible sound, even if you're only pushing a project car that has a liner hanging down on a tyre!   Has the car been lowered? If it has been, what is the measurement from the centre of the wheel hub to the lip of the guard straight up?

    • Mark's a bit smarter than people give him credit... He'd convince the person that is to become dead, to drive him to the forest first. That way his car has no evidence in it, and he's free to dispose of their vehicle permanently how he sees fit too...
    • But if you had to go bury a body in the forest, would you not put that in the boot? Most of them are >=90kg these days.
    • That could easily make a horrible noise. +1 to the benefits of: a) Disclosing all relevant information when asking questions such as these, b) Actually going out and having a look at your own car, seeing as you're the one there, and we're not!
