Hi all,

at the weekend we attended the second round of the australian sport compact racing series.

in qualifying we ran a couple of pbs

9.55 et at 155 mph

then

9.36 et at 156.4 mph

we made it to the quarter final only to break out with a 9.592 et on a 9.60 dial in time

this put us third for the event and gives us a 120 point lead in the championship with 2 rounds to go.

the encouraging thing about the times were the track had been scraped on friday so had no rubber down which ment i had to feather the throttle for the first 400 feet or so, sixty foots were back at 1.69 instead of our normal 1.5's so on sixty foot alone theres a 9.0 to be had. we still have room to move on the tune so hopefully we will see a 8 sec radial tyred pass in the near future.

massive thanks to my tuner and crew chief Justin Gregory from BlackTrack Performance Dyno Centre in thornton. results speak for themselves. just put 3300 pounds and 156.4mph into a horsepower calculator, its pretty impressive not to mention the car performs time after time after time. thanks must also go to merv for his fabrication work at blacktrack.

also a big thanks to other local business who sponsor me 6Boost turbo manifolds, PRO Coat high temp coatings, MV Autos, microtech global, premier exhaust, rampant performance parts and turbosmart.

cheers

Shane

far out shane, this thing is seeing some serious mph now, congratulations mate. going well.

that big turbo really brings it home. that mph is good for high 8 sec pass. keep it up.

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
