Stock ECR33 RB25DET. Pulls RPM till 5000rpm and it chocks before going up again. What's wrong? One more question, i have the NISMO 300KM speedometer and i'm stuck at a max speed of 220km. What can i do to make it go all the way to 300km?

What mods you running?

Mine has a nice big flat spot at 5000rpm .. slowly getting this sorted. So far:

replace plugs (.8 NGK Coppers)

tape up coilpacks

ECU reset

Running much better after those, and a cheap way to get close to your RB for an afternoon.

re: second question .. give it more right foot? :D

Did a max speed run just now at final gear at around 200km close to 5000rpm. It won't go any further even when i floor it. Interesting when i saw the engine light come on after 2mins of flooring the accelarator and temp rising above 1/2 line. The engine light went off and temp went down when i release the accelarator afterwards.

    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    • I would tend to agree, especially based on the transfer oil being completely cooked by the sounds of it. I bet it was serviced every 5,000km... Which probably worked out to once every 15,000 real kms...
