Hello guys, just new to this forum, lookin to move to Sydney from NZ and have a 95-98 Series 2 R33 GTS-t in mind, where can I get the best deals - could anyone please give me a list of 'repossessed car / auction companies' in Sydney which are likely to have this car at steal deals - their web addresses?? Have been lookin in carsales.com.au, tradingpost.com.au, motorpoint.com.au, drive.com.au - which is the best one?? They all seem more or less the same, ie which one would you guys recommend??

I'm 30yrs old, lookin to grab a clean, preferrably lowered 95-98 car with mild or no mods for under 10k. Prefer white, no spoiler or stupid kit, and 17' or 18' deep dish Work Meister rims...ahhh..where can I pick up a 2nd hand set of deep dish rims/tyres and costs and or costs of lowering with king springs etc, what do u guys mostly use??

It will be a normal and sexy daily driver that I can park at the train station so nothing flash - and any ideas on insurance for a 30yr ol fart??

Please provide feedback if you can, your help will be much appreciated -- cheers n thanks!! RON

I think you'll find alot of the carsales.com, carpoint.com etc have most of the same cars so just take your pick really. I live in qld so im not sure about the auctions but you should be able to find a clean gtst on carsales etc between 10 - 15k. Not sure of the likelyhood of finding one with work meisters on it though, you might have to buy your rims seperately.

Shop around and make sure you don't rush into buying any old one. I looked at 6 or 7 before I decided on my car. There are some bargains but alot of them are just lemons so be careful Read the stickied topics on what you should look for when buying one they helped me a shitload. Don't believe the odometer either because most of the important ones have been wound back.

Insurance i cant see it costing you more than $1500 at the very very most. Im 18 n my insurance is only $2000. Good luck finding your car :)

G'Day Coxy, thanks for your reply mate, so do u own a r33 GTS-t too, is it 'okay' on fuel for a daily driver with the occasional stomp on the gas pedal for a short burst on those rare moments ...consider a stocker with mild mods, exhaust, intercooler, intake, plugs, suspension, thats it...

As a daily driver you get the average fuel out of it... but as always depends on how heavy footed you want to be..

As for the car requirement you want.. you want a sock car that is what you'll get.. to get your 'dream' car you'll prob have to build yourself... it shouldnt be hard to get a stocker with a few 'tasteful' mods (exhaust, intercooler, etc) however there could also be mods you dont want.. just depends on the owners taste...

you need to be careful on a 'cheap' car as most times "you get what you pay for" as the saying goes.. and as beelzebub89 said there are lemons out there.. imo i would check through carsales.com.au as you get quite a variety of cars.. its popular.. and imo is very well layed out (not unlike the trading post which i find a nuisance)

however if you are flying over from NZ 9if your not here already) why not broaden your search to surrounding states as you get more variety and a better chance at finding 'the one' then jus drive the rest of the way to sydney?

lowering with king springs cost between 2-3k with king springs on my vt.. totally different car however.. thought it would give an estimate

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
