I just purchased a 2 kicker CVR 12" subwoofers and im looking to purchase a amplifier from jaycar.

What rating would it need to power the subwoofers?

hey mate , with the amp if you just going to be running the sub with the amp then get a mono-block amp. You can buy any amp as long as is it close to 400 rms . 800w doesn’t mean much always go by RMS when buying a amp, therefore RMS is true power (route mean squared).. Try not to get anything over 400 RMS as the amp because if you tune it wrong you have a higher chance of burning out the sub. Anything close to 400 RMS would work nice.. so any amp in the 350RMS - 400 RMS output will do..

I agree, go with a monoblock (provides best power for 2 subs). In terms of price, you can get a 800 watt pioneer monoblock for around $300 (one of the cheapest options)

hey man also if your looking for a good mono block class D amp, go check out the "Responce Amps" they are worth the price.
